Week 10: Deep Sleepers

By: Ravi Krishnan (Twitter: @masalaESPN)

Two weeks back, I listed 3 super-deep sleepers who would have a chance to redeem your roster from Week 8 onwards, so before we get into this week’s list, let us take a quick peek at how my super-deep sleepers from Week 8 have fared.

Jalen Reagor, WR, Eagles

Week 8: 3 catches for 16 yards on 6 targets; One TD. One carry for 6 yards

Week 9: Bye

I projected Reagor as a Top-25 WR for rest-of-season. In the one week (Week 8) he has played since, he was WR #27 in Half-PPR leagues. Not bad, and less than 0.5-points from a Top-25 finish. It is encouraging that Reagor was heavily involved in the offense and led the Eagles with 6 targets, scored once, and was a fingertip grab away from another TD. He also got a jet-sweep off the backfield. Reagor is the future of the Eagles pass offense, and things will get better in Week 10 and beyond.

Irv Smith, TE, Vikings

Week 8: One catch for 16 yards

Week 9: 2 catches for 10 yards, Two TDs

I projected Smith as a Top-8 TE ROS. In Weeks 8-9, he has been TE#7 in Half-PPR leagues, and the trend is likely to go upward. In a run-oriented offense and Dalvin Cook consistently shredding opposing defenses, the Vikings are constantly looking at short-passing needs in the Red Zone, and that bodes well for TD upside for Irv Smith.

Denzel Mims, WR, Jets

Week 8: 2 catches for 42 yards

Week 9: 4 catches for 62 yards

I projected Mims as a Top-30 WR ROS. Jury is still out on this one. Mims has flashed his skills a couple of times in each game, but the lack of consistency in the Jets QB position, and the overall malaise of the team in general, are huge obstacles for any offensive skill player to find continued success. He has been getting targeted and has barely missed on some big plays (including a long TD in Week 9) so his time might still come.

Ok on to next week now. For Week 10 and beyond, I have three more sleepers that have the potential to impact your rosters much more than some of the bench fodder you are carrying. Here is my list of three under-used fantasy players whose real-life performances in recent weeks portend fantasy goodness.

Let’s get Started.
