2. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers (vs WFT)
Originally scheduled for Thanksgiving, the Steelers finally beat the Ravens, in a very 2020, Wednesday afternoon football game. After nearly a week without practice, both teams came out looking very rusty, resulting in four turnovers and a missed extra point in just the first ten minutes of the game.
In particular, Big Ben threw an interception and fumbled once, resulting in only 12.4 fantasy points
Coming into Monday evening’s game against Washington, Ben will have only five days to rest his shoulder. On both Thursday and Friday, he sat from practice, which could lead to another rusty start. Furthermore, the Steelers will continue to play without All-Pro center Maurkice Pouncey because of covid.
In stark contrast, the Washington Football Team did play their scheduled game on Thanksgiving, with a sound victory over the Cowboys. In total, it will be eleven full days between games for Washington, which allows them to be well rested.
Notably, this upcoming contest features the top two pass defenses in the league. While the Steelers lead the NFL allowing only 193 passing yards per game, the Washington defense is right behind them allowing only 194.6. Both teams get after the quarterback.
Unfortunately, the Steelers will not have one of the best centers in the NFL, against one of the best pass rushes in the NFL. While the Steelers do have great receivers, Ben will have no time to throw.
Also, the Steelers have a Sunday Night primetime matchup with the Bills in week 14. Combining all of these factors, this could very easily be a trap game for Big Ben and the Steelers.
