CAM AKERS, LOS ANGELES RAMS:
NEXT THREE WEEKS, WEEK 14 V NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, WEEK 15 V NEW YORK JETS, WEEK 16 @ SEATTLE SEAHAWKS
It is clear that Akers is becoming the top man in the Rams backfield. In Week 13, he had 21 carries for 72 yards and a touchdown. Darrell Henderson and Malcolm Brown each had three carries. The schedule will see the Rams against formidable opponents on the run.
The Patriots are 18th, allowing 118.8 rushing yards a game, the Jets are ninth, allowing 107.8 rushing yards per game, and the Seahawks (who just got torched by Wayne Gallman and allowed Alfred Morris a rushing touchdown) are fifth, allowing 97.7 rushing yards per game.
All this might seem formidable, except for the Rams commitment to the run. They average 29.9 rushing attempts per game, which means they are running the ball on 43.52% of their offensive plays. Opportunity is king in fantasy football.
