Miles Sanders, RB Eagles
Miles Sanders is the player of concern here, but it truly is a bigger issue. The Philadelphia Eagles are a complete disaster right now and the only glimmer of hope is if Jalen Hurts is the starter moving forward.
We can debate Carson Wentz’s problems at a different time, but if your QB was an extreme liability don’t you think relying on your star RB would benefit everyone? Doug Pederson disagrees. He instead gave Miles Sanders 8 and 10 touches the last two weeks. The ability level of Sanders is definitely still there, but with Wentz at QB his fantasy value is not.
Jalen Hurts did replace Wentz vs Green Bay in Week 12 and had some success moving the football. However, the Eagles were in a hole by that time which leaves us still wondering how Coach Pederson would use Sanders in an entire game of Hurts under center. And even if Hurts is the starter, the fantasy playoffs are not the time to start Sanders and see how the experiment goes, especially with a tough matchup vs the Saints defense this week.
Allow yourself a week to observe Sanders’s role and possibly consider him vs Arizona the following week. If Wentz starts again, abandon the ship as fast as possible. It is unfortunate because I really like Miles Sanders’s skillset and believe he could vastly improve the Eagles offense if they focused on getting him more involved. That just isn’t the case and you have the right to be in a full out PANIC.
