Week 14: Top Start, Top Sleeper, and Top Bust

Playoff time!! Who is still in it and trying to win that Championship? At this point, most of the best players are already rostered, but good news is, your team is good enough to still be playing, and there may just be some hidden gems in the FA pool. This week, I have an elite RB, along with two QBs on my list. With that said, here is my Top List for Week 14.

Top Start: RB Derrick Henry

I know, I know, we just all witnessed the Browns make King Henry look human for once, but this coming week, the Tennessee Titans will be facing their division rival, the Jacksonville Jaguars.

El Tractorcito has a history of dominating the Jags defense, and Week 14 should be no different. On top of that, Henry is going to be looking to get back to his regular self. It’s officially December, he’s playing the Jaguars, and the King will be looking for revenge after Cleveland bottled him up last week. The stars are aligned for Derrick Henry to have a monster game, and his stats back it all up too.

He’s already over the 1000 yard mark on the year, averaging 109.8 rushing yards per game. He also has 16 total touchdowns to show for it. Derrick Henry is a must start if you have him on your roster this week. In fact, the Titan’s remaining games during the Fantasy Football Playoffs are the Jaguars, Lions, and the Packers… The King may very well lead you to a Fantasy Football Championship this year.

Top Sleeper: QB Mike Glennon

Yes, I meant to name Glennon as my Top Sleeper, and no, it’s not a typo. Now that we have that out of the way, Glennon has a favorable matchup this week that could very well help you win your playoff game. He’s infamously known as a terrible QB around the league, but hear me out for one second.

Since becoming the Jaguars starting QB, Glennon has averaged 257.5 passing yards per game, and has thrown 3 touchdowns. He did throw two INTs last week against the Vikings, but still scored over 14 points on Yahoo (which is over double what Justin Herbert scored).

Additionally, he’s facing a Titans team that plays Swiss-Cheese defense this year when it comes to the pass game. Also, there’s a real chance the Jaguars are going to throw the ball early and often as they’ll be looking to stun the wounded Titans.

If you’re streaming your QB or play in a Superflex league, I highly consider looking Mike Glennon’s way for your playoff matchup.

Top Bust: QB Jared Goff

Goff just might be the most inconsistent Fantasy QB in the NFL. Some weeks he lights it up, and others, he’s downright awful. In Week 14, the Rams will be facing the Patriots, who have looked great recently.

They’ve 4 out of their last 5 games, and they made the rookie sensation Justin Herbert look like Sam Darnold last Sunday (Sorry Jets fans).

It’s a tough road to the playoffs for the Pats, but right now, they’re the last team I’d want to face. So far, Jared Goff is averaging 281 yards per game, but has only thrown 17 touchdowns on the year.

Meanwhile, the Patriots defense is ranked 14th at stopping the pass and are ranked 12th overall. The combination of Goff being a human roller coaster and the Patriots catching fire at the right time, makes for a situation I want to avoid all together. Avoid Jared Goff this week if you can.

Honorable Mentions:

– Top Start: QB Russell Wilson, WR DK Metcalf, WR Davante Adams – Top Sleeper: WR Keke Coutee, WR Denzel Mims, QB Daniel Jones/Colt McCoy – Top Bust: RB Josh Jacobs, QB Baker Mayfield, TE Dallas Goedert/Zach Ertz
