With exactly 1 month until the NFL draft, there’s a lot of questions still left unanswered. The number 1 overall pick seems to be locked in, but as for the rest, it’s anyone’s guess as to who will go at the top of the board.

Caleb Williams to Chicago

After the block buster move to send Justin Fields to Pittsburgh, it’s more clear than ever that Caleb Williams will be the guy in Chicago. In years past, this would be considered a bad situation to go to, but with one of the best WR duos in the league (Keenan Allen and D.J. Moore) the pressure is on for Williams to perform. Williams is the most NFL ready QB and the clear #1 prospect in this draft.

Drake Maye to Washington.

Drake Maye is one of my favorite prospects in the draft. His big arm and big production makes him a Josh-Allen esque talent. More teams everyday are taking a chances on big talent big risk guys after seeing how well it has worked out. Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson should produce very well for Maye.

The only downside to his game is the turnovers, 9 INT’s and 4 particularly in the last 3 games of 2023 is definitely concerning, but it would be criminal to pass on him at 2.

Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Patriots.

Marvin Harrison is probably the best non-QB prospect in this draft. The patriots having many holes to fill in this roster should just take the best player available. The route of going QB is interesting but the question remains if you want to throw a rookie QB into a bad situation so early on.

Malik Nabers to the Cardinals

Nabers would be an electric addition to the WR-needy Cardinals. Kyler Murray’s production would skyrocket with Nabers and could seriously upgrade the Cardinals offensively, the option of trading down always remains of course, but going with Nabers seems like the smart choice.

Jayden Daniels to the Vikings (Trade)

Here is the blockbuster trade of the evening, Minnesota trades up 6 places to grab their franchise guy at 5. Daniels had a career year at LSU winning the Heisman and skyrocketing his draft value. Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Daniels have the potential to be the best offense in the league and would make this a crazy good pick.

When trying to predict a player’s fantasy value there are several stats to look at. One important area is the total number of snaps they play during a given week. Generally, players with higher snap counts get more opportunities and that means more ways to score. Obviously, this stat is not as important for quarterbacks so we took them out of the chart below. The rest of the offensive skill players are listed in order of their total snaps played for the first two weeks of the NFL season. Here are a couple of names that stick out.

Kyren Williams – Williams quickly took over the backfield for the LA Rams and has been one of the early surprises of the season. The Rams are so sold on Williams they decided to trade away Cam Akers to the Minnesota Vikings. Williams played in 95% of the team’s snaps in week 2 and will continue to get the majority of the workload.

Jonathan Mingo – Mingo hasn’t yet had a breakout game but the rookie is playing the majority of the snaps on offense. He played in 98% of the Panthers snaps in week 2 and could be a sneaky flex play in the coming weeks.

Jahan Dotson – Dotson was one of the hottest names coming into this season as a potential 2nd-year breakout player. The production hasn’t been there as of yet but it’s only a matter of time. Surprisingly Dotson outsnapped fellow wide receiver Terry McLaurin in week 2.

Quarterbacks

Start ‘Em

Justin Herbert (vs. Mia) – Herbert has an enticing matchup this week against a Miami Dolphins team that will be without Jalen Ramsey. Herbert threw for 367 yards in week 14 last year against the Dolphins and posted a 76.5 completion percentage. Expect similar results for Herbert along with 2 passing touchdowns.

Sit ‘Em

Aaron Rodgers (vs. Buf) – Rodgers has a tough matchup in his opening game with the New York Jets. The Jets offensive line will be tested all game long and even without Von Miller the Bills will be able to generate pressure. Rodgers struggled last year at Buffalo when he threw for just 203 yards.

Running Backs

Start ‘Em

Aaron Jones (vs. Chi) – Jones is in for a big day when the Packers visit the Chicago Bears. Green Bay is dealing with injuries to their top 2 receivers (Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs) which means more targets for Jones. We don’t know what to expect yet from Jordan Love but the Packers will likely rely on the run game in this one.

Sit ’em

Najee Harris (vs. SF) – Harris and the Pittsburgh Steelers have a tough opening matchup against the 49ers and their stout defense. San Francisco allowed only 3.4 YPC in 2022 and they just got Nick Bosa back in action. The Steelers will need to attack the 49ers defense through the air to have a chance in this one.

Wide Receivers

Start ‘Em

Jahan Dotson (vs. Ari) – Dotson is no longer under the radar after his impressive rookie season in Washington. The Commanders get a juicy matchup against a Cardinals defense that will struggle all season. Fellow receiver Terry McLaurin looks to be ready to play but he may not be 100% yet.

Sit ‘Em

DeAndre Hopkins (vs. NO) – We don’t know yet what to expect from Hopkins in this Titans offense. I plan to wait and see how he’s utilized before I put him in the starting lineup. The Saints will have a better-than-average defense this year and will be tough at home.

Tight Ends

Start ‘Em

Evan Engram (vs. IND) – It could be a long day for the Indianapolis Colts when Jacksonville comes to town. The Colts will need to play keep away to have any chance in this one. Expect Engram to have a big day against the Colts who struggled at times to stop tight ends in 2022.

Sit ‘Em

Kyle Pitts (vs. Car) – After a disastrous 2022 it’s hard to put your trust in Pitts. The Panthers finished in the top 10 in points allowed to tight ends last year. That along with the fact we don’t know what to expect from Desmond Ridder has me sitting Pitts this week.

Start of the Week

Jamaal Williams (vs. Ten) – Williams is a must-start for week 1. With Alvin Kamara sidelined due to suspension Williams will get the majority of the workload against the Titans. I don’t expect to see that many touches from rookie Kendre Miller until he gets up to speed. Don’t forget, Williams led the league with 17 rushing touchdowns last year.

What is Jahan Dotson’s Dynasty Outlook in 2023 and Beyond?

Jahan Dotson was somewhat of a wildcard going into last season. Dotson was receiving plenty of buzz inside the Washington Commanders camp. Outside of that most of the NFL world was focused on Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson in terms of 1st round wide receivers. As for pre-draft rankings, Dotson was #29 WR according to FantasyPros ECR and he ended up with 113.1 FP (Half PPR). Dotson missed 5 games due to a hamstring injury that hampered his production. Let’s take a closer look at Jahan Dotson dynasty shares going forward.

2022

Unlike some other rookies we have profiled here, Dotson wasted no time making his mark. In week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars he finished with 2 touchdowns including an impressive game-winner. On the day Dotson finished with 16.5 FP and 40 yards receiving. Dotson kept his touchdown streak going when the Commanders visited the Detroit Lions in week 2. He scored on a nasty juke move that made space for Carson Wentz to fit in a tight throw. One thing that sticks out right away with Dotson on film is his route-running ability. He is very shifty and often leaves defenders flat-footed.

In the week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Dotson flashed his route-running ability again scoring a touchdown in the corner of the endzone. Unfortunately not long after he went down with a hamstring injury that led to him missing some time.

In his return from the hamstring injury Dotson was eased back into the gameplan slowly. He put up minimal numbers in his first three games back. In week 13 against the New York Giants Dotson made his mark again. He caught a grab over the middle and used an impressive spin move on his way to the game-tying score.

That spin move ? @JahanDotson

?: #WASvsNYG on FOX
?: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/OXYVVHbGn9 pic.twitter.com/3kJ9Gp0cp5
— NFL (@NFL) December 4, 2022

2023

Going into next year there are some key questions to ask in terms of Dotson. The first of which is how well will he mesh with Sam Howell. If it’s any indication Dotson and Howell showed some chemistry in the final game of the year against the Cowboys. Despite limited targets and just 35 receptions on the year Dotson still finished with 7 touchdowns. He had an 18.9% TD rate according to PlayerProfiler which was good for 14th best in the league. Consistency at the quarterback position will be key for Dotson going forward.

Jahan Dotson’s Dynasty Value

Where do I rank Jahan Dotson’s dynasty value for next year? I am still high on Dotson’s ability and his production will only go up. The key is how well Dotson and Howell progress in new Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s system. Bieniemy coming in to run the Commanders offense is a huge x-factor. He will find creative ways to get Dotson more involved and increase his target share. For now, Dotson is a HOLD for me going into the 2023 NFL season.

The time has come and soon Commissioner Roger Goodell will open the 2023 NFL draft. Fans will release their customary boos on Goodell and he will then announce the Carolina Panthers are on the clock with the first pick. This is when the fun starts and drama of draft night begins. This has been one of the hardest NFL draft’s to predict with the many story lines and rumors. The unpredictability should make for an entertaining draft overall. With that said let’s take a look at some of the biggest topics heading into Thursday night.

Will Levis with the First Pick?

Thanks to an anonymous Reddit post, Will Levis to the Carolina Panthers is gaining steam. The post is claiming that Levis is telling friends and family that Carolina is taking him with the first overall pick. Take the post with a grain of salt but it’s important to note that his betting odds have changed dramatically over the past 24 hours. I am not yet buying it as it seems like the Panthers are set on selecting Bryce Young. If Levis doesn’t go number 1, I expect him to go to he Colts.

Jalen Carter to the Seahawks is a Perfect Match

By now we all know the drama surrounding Jalen Carter and his off the field incidents. This will cause him to fall slightly but he is still the best prospect in this year’s draft. Seattle is the perfect fit for Carter and I projected him there in my latest mock draft. Pete Carroll is just what Carter needs as he will motivate and challenge him in the right ways.

Bijan Robinson in the Top 10?

Say what you want about taking a running back in the first round but Bijan Robinson is a different animal. He is the best overall offensive talent in this year’s draft. His ability to catch the ball out of the backfield along with his explosiveness sets him apart from the other running backs. Robinson to the Eagles at 10 makes too much sense. The Eagles said goodbye to Miles Sanders this offseason and picked up Rashaad Penny. Penny will be their bruiser but Robinson will be the playmaking RB they are looking for.

Titans Trade for a Quarterback

Tennessee looks like they want to move on from Ryan Tannehill and they have the ammo to make a big draft day trade. We have talked about it before as rumors have Derrick Henry on the trade block. Henry as part of a draft day package should be enough to get the Titans into the top 10 and allow them to select a QB.

Commanders Trade Back Again

In last year’s draft the Washington Commanders traded back in the first round and it was on of the best moves of the draft. They ended up using the draft capital to pick up Jahan Dotson, Brian Robinson Jr. and Sam Howell. These three are the young core the Commanders are now building on as they look to the future. I expect them to trade back again and focus on a CB or an OL. Both are big needs for the Commanders going into next year.

We are back again with the latest edition of our Fantasy Football waiver wire pickups of the week. Week 14 is a crucial week across the fantasy football landscape as teams make their last gash push for the playoffs. There are a whopping six teams on BYE this week so making the right waiver wire pickups is a must. Let’s take a look at the top waiver wire pickups for week 14.

Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy QB – San Francisco 49ers

There is a new starter for the 49ers as Jimmy Garoppolo suffered a broken foot ending his season. In steps the 2022 Mr. Irrelevant Brock Purdy. The former Iowa State product stepped in admirably for Garoppolo on Sunday going 25-37 for 210 yards and 2 touchdowns. He almost certainly will be the starter going forward even if the 49ers sign a couple of quarterbacks from the wire. Purdy offers a little more mobility than Garoppolo and with the amount of weapons available on this offense he should put up respectable numbers.

Tyler Huntley QB – Baltimore Ravens

Another unfortunate injury propelled Tyler Huntley into action on Sunday. Lamar Jackson went down with an apparent knee injury versus the Denver Broncos. Huntley has a similar skill set to Jackson and scored a crucial rushing touchdown that helped propel the Ravens to victory. He is worth picking up as we don’t yet know how serious Jackson’s injury is.

Running Backs

James Cook RB – Buffalo Bills

The Bills are finally letting Cook cook as he was fed Thursday night against the New England Patriots. He racked up over 100 scrimmage yards and out touched lead back Devin Singletary. The rookie has taken some time to settle in but you can see his explosiveness and speed, especially in the passing game. The momentum is real and we can see him eventually becoming RB1 for the Bills down the stretch.

Wide Receivers

Jahan Dotson WR – Washington Commanders

Dotson started the year as one of the hottest rookie wide receivers scoring 4 touchdowns in his first four games as a pro. He went down with a hamstring injury in Week 4 against Dallas that sidelined him for over a month. Fast forward to Sunday when Dotson flashed his pre-injury explosiveness when he dropped a spin move on his way for game tying touchdown. The Commanders wanted to get him more involved in the passing game and QB Taylor Heinicke is starting to gain more chemistry with the talented rookie. Look for that to continue in the coming weeks. Dotson and the Commanders are on a BYE this week but now is the time to stash him for the playoff run.

That spin move ? @JahanDotson

?: #WASvsNYG on FOX
?: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/OXYVVHbGn9 pic.twitter.com/3kJ9Gp0cp5
— NFL (@NFL) December 4, 2022

Odell Beckham Jr. WR – Free Agent

It’s time. The superstar wide receiver is close to signing on with a playoff contender. He recently visited with the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys as the push to sign the talented Beckham Jr. continues. We all know the upside and if he does end up signing with the Cowboys its hard to ignore the potential. Now is the time to pick up Beckham Jr. as it’s only a matter of time before he signs.

Tight Ends

Noah Fant TE – Seattle Seahawks

Ideally you are set at this spot and have one of the top 10 tight ends already on your roster. We all know outside of the top 10 its a crap shoot at this position but that’s where we are. With six teams on BYE there is a good chance you need to pick one up for your critical matchup this week. Fant got back into the endzone this week and hauled in 4 catches on 5 targets for 42 yards. If you are desperate at the TE position for this week look Fant’s way.

What is the biggest obstacle for the Commanders?

By: Jake Rajala

The Washington Commanders found a new spirit with the arrival of Carson Wentz. Ron Rivera will still really have to get creative with Wentz in order to return to the playoffs in 2022. With that said, I’m going to simply outline the three biggest obstacles for the Commanders next season.

“A lot of emotions. I’m sure fans will eat that up.”

Carson Wentz on facing the Eagles in Week 3. pic.twitter.com/c2JZKPFeOK
— NFL Network (@nflnetwork) May 13, 2022

Pass defense

The Commanders ranked 29th in passing YPG allowed last season, so it’s clear their 2021 pass defense was far from a recipe for success. The CB William Jackson was one of the most disappointing players on the roster last season, as highlighted by Commanders Wire. The Commanders will also anticipate Chase Young elevating into an elite pass rusher (and Montez Sweat returning to dominance after missing seven games), which should benefit their ability against opposing QBs. It may also make sense for the Commanders to be the second NFC East team to sign a FA CB like Joe Haden or Janoris Jenkins.

The WR talent

It’s obvious that Wentz will love throwing to Terry McLaurin more than Michael Pittman Jr, but Wentz will need to also be in sync with a talented WR2 in his offense. Curtis Samuel fell off a cliff last season and Jahan Dotson is a rookie, so it’s unclear which WR will help Scary Terry demolish opposing defenses. Hopefully, Dotson can hit the ground running and the Commanders find a superb way to get Samuel the pigskin in space.

Gm ??

Just found out Curtis Samuel is still only 25 years old and carries the 9th highest cap hit among all WRs in 2022 and now I'm absolutely rattled
— Matthew Betz (@TheFantasyPT) May 18, 2022

Dallas Cowboys

Unfortunately, the Dallas Cowboys swept the Commanders last season. In particular, the Commanders allowed an embarrassing 56 points from the Boys last season. I’m sure that Rivera has the Cowboys contest circled on his calendar and the WAS defense strives to tee off on Prescott. The Commanders and Boys battle in Week 4 and Week 18 in the 2022-2023 season.

Cowboys reach 56 points for the first time since 1980, and just the fourth time in franchise history.
— Bobby Belt (@BobbyBeltTX) December 27, 2021

3 draft options for the Green Bay Packers at wide receiver

By: Jeremy Trottier

With the 2022 NFL Draft just around the corner, many if not all teams still have some major holes they need to fill via their picks. With this, the Green Bay Packers have multiple needs, but the most glaring at the moment would be wide receiver. After trading away Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders, as well as losing Marquez Valdes-Scantling via free agency to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Packers really do not have much left at the position for Aaron Rodgers to work with. In this article, I will be covering 3 draft targets at the WR position for the Packers, who could reasonably fall to the Packers various picks through the first few rounds.

Option 1: Treylon Burks ”“ Arkansas ”“ First Round

The first option for the Packers is the big bodied receiver out of Arkansas, Treylon Burks. Burks would be probably the best option for the Packers at the back end of the first round if he were to fall there, as he fits the bill for a true WR1 in this league. His game is primarily his ability to be physical and make tough high point catches through contact and has some very solid YAC capabilities. He has some impressive overall measurables, at 6’3” 225 pounds, with 9 7/8” hands and a 79 1/8” wingspan. His speed, while testing somewhat at an average level, is underrated, as he has some really good play speed that just is not shown in events like the 40-yard dash.

"TREYLON BURKS. RIDICULOUS FOR THE ARKANSAS TOUCHDOWN." pic.twitter.com/cSy34aCMwH
— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) October 16, 2021

Option 2: Jahan Dotson ”“ Penn State ”“ First Round/Trade into early second

Onto the second option, who is a much different prospect than Burks in Jahan Dotson from Penn State. Dotson is an absolutely amazing route runner, as many other writers and scouts can verify, and has some great tempo in his running. While not the 4.2/4.3 type speed receiver, he has the ability to stop and start to get himself open against DBs, and break up routes into pieces to keep defensive backs off balance. He also has great hands and will come down with a lot of passed, even when they are not within an immediate catch radius.

You know the result when Jahan Dotson is this wide open.

Touchdown, @PennStateFball. ? pic.twitter.com/X35aVDHrzt
— Big Ten Network (@BigTenNetwork) November 27, 2021

Option 3: Alec Pierce ”“ Cincinnati ”“ Second Round/Third Round

The final option on our list is more of a day 2 prospect, as to give some variety and allow the Packers to fill other needs on day 1 if needed. Alec Pierce is another physical jump ball receiver at 6’3” and 211 pounds, however his speed blew a lot of people away, as he ran a blazing 4.33. For a receiver this large and with such a wide catch radius, as well as some great high-pointing capabilities, he really has all the traits you would want in a developmental receiver. With some training in YAC maneuvers and some diversification in his route tree, he could be something special at the next level.

Near the end of the first quarter, WR Alec Pierce went over his defender to secure the grab for the first of 7?? @GoBearcatsFB touchdowns on the night.

It's today's Fujitec Skilled Play of the Game! pic.twitter.com/7dxVx1vjT3
— Cincinnati Bearcats (@GoBEARCATS) October 9, 2021
