Coming out of college, Terry McLaurin was somewhat of an unknown prospect. He was in a stacked wide receiver room at Ohio State but showed glimpses of greatness. McLaurin was projected by many to start his career as a special-teams ace and eventually work into a starting role. When Washington drafted him in 2019, they quickly figured out they had a star on their hands.

Fan Favorite

It didn’t take long for McLaurin to become a fan favorite in DC. In his debut against the Eagles he exploded for 125 yards and a 69 yard touchdown. He would finish his rookie campaign with 7 receiving touchdowns despite mediocre quarterback play. In fact, that was the theme for McLaurin’s career until last season. Overall, McLaurin has played with 13 different starting quarterbacks over his time in Washington.

Embed from Getty Images

Despite the revolving door at quarterback, a terrible owner and several losing seasons, McLaurin never complained but instead perfected his craft. He could’ve complained, asked for a trade or spoke out to the media but that’s not who he is. That’s why he is so beloved in Washington, he has been a true team player.

Contract Standoff

Fast forward to today and McLaurin is one of the few training camp holdouts. There is a clear disconnect in his value between the Commanders front office and Terry’s camp. Rumors suggest McLaurin is asking in the $33m per year range while the Commanders are offering significantly lower than that. Is he worth that asking price?

That’s where this situation becomes tricky. Is he a top 10 WR? Yes, I believe he is right around the 10 range when ranking receivers. If he were to get $33m per year it would put him only below Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and CeeDee Lamb. While McLaurin is clearly a star, he is not an elite game-breaking receiver in my opinion.

Adam Peters and the Washington front office most likely think the same but there is the loyalty factor. For many years he was the only bright spot on this Washington team. He is also coming off a franchise record 13 receiving touchdowns but is about to turn 30 in September.

It’s not as easy as giving McLaurin what he wants but at the same time you have to consider what he means to this team and community. My gut is telling me this will get done for around the $30m per year range but this holdout could last all the way through the pre-season.

Football is officially back with all 32 teams reporting to training camp this week. With that being said, fantasy football is now upon us with many leagues already drafting for the upcoming season.

We’re excited to unveil our first draft rankings of the 2025-26 campaign below. These rankings will be updated throughout the pre-season and up to week 1. Make sure you keep it locked here as we will also be releasing our sleeper rankings in the coming days.

Chase on Top

Fresh off his record breaking deal, Ja’Marr Chase stands atop our rankings. Chase was the clear WR1 in 2024 putting up monster numbers. Can you he do it again? He absolutely can. I expect the Bengals to once again be a juggernaut on offense and carry its weak defense.

Ashton Jeanty a Top 5 RB?

Right now I have Jeanty as a top 5 RB. Jeanty is a workhorse who showed in college he is more than capable of carrying a heavy load. I expect the Raiders to lean on Jeanty and 2nd year star Brock Bowers. This Raiders offense will be somewhat limited but these two will get a ton of volume.

Joe Burrow seems to have become one of the NFL’s inconvenient truths. He’s again in position to get the Cincinnati Bengals to the Super Bowl with a win in the AFC conference final against the Kansas City Chiefs, a team he’s beaten three straight times. This opportunity comes after beating the Buffalo Bills in the divisional round, a team many people throughout the season predicted was better than the Bengals.

It just got a whole lot colder in KC ?@JoeyB | #RuleTheAFC pic.twitter.com/jNPNJ0Ljn3
— Cincinnati Bengals (@Bengals) January 28, 2023

When we talk about the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Burrow’s name is rarely mentioned with the likes of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen. But considering that these quarterbacks have failed to beat Burrow’s Bengals, are we overlooking him? Mahomes and Allen both have physical abilities that are above those of Burrow, but how much does that actually matter? There’s something about him that puts him on the level of the league’s best quarterbacks.

It’s been said, in one fashion or another, that Burrow possesses something that isn’t quantifiable, and that that’s what puts him in the same class as Mahomes and Allen. That like Joe Montana before him, Burrow is just too cool. Certainly, this is true. Without a doubt, he’s “cooler” than Mahomes and Allen. But there are other things about his game that put him on that same level, if not even beyond it.

Career Completion Percentage

Burrow: 68.2%

Mahomes: 66.3%

Allen: 62.5%

Y'all really thought the Bengals were going to lose with Joe Burrow throwing pregame warmup passes like this? pic.twitter.com/OJpL0ZQtRb
— NFL Memes (@NFL_Memes) January 22, 2023

Burrow is simply more accurate than Mahomes and Allen. The reason for this is that he’s comfortable taking what opposing defenses give him rather than being obsessed with the home run-type plays that we think of with Mahomes and Allen. In fairness, Mahomes, in particular, has adjusted to being able to lead his offense without those relying on those big plays. This is less so the case with Allen, who needed to be Superman in order for the Bills to be a threat this season.

This wraps back around to Burrow’s “cool” factor. He knows he has the best wide receiver core in the NFL at his disposal with Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd, but he’s levelheaded and confident enough to know he doesn’t have to make superstar plays at all times. But there’s another level to this as well. It disguises the big play potential of the offense. Burrow is keen enough to know this and the offense rallies around it.

So, no, Burrow doesn’t possess the physical abilities of Mahomes and Allen. He isn’t going to be slinging the football around the yard at ridiculous angles and he isn’t going to be hurdling defensive backs on 40-yard runs. But he is going to dissect opposing defenses and open them up for the right plays at the right moments, slowly and surely. His football IQ is probably higher than either Mahomes or Allen, his composure is clearly higher, and his intangibles are unmatched among his contemporaries. All of that may just make him the best overall quarterback in the NFL, even though he isn’t the most talented.

By: Jake Rajala

The Cincinnati Bengals take a trip to the Big Easy in Week 6. The Bengals signal-caller Joe Burrow is returning to his old stomping grounds — as he was a mythical figure at LSU. With that said, I will untwine five questions for the Burrow-led Bengals in Week 6.

Can Ja’Marr Chase explode against the Saints?

The 2021 Offensive Rookie of The Year, Ja’Marr Chase, has been hit or miss this season. Chase unleashed 10 catches for 129 yards, a touchdown in Week 1, and a modest 81 yards in Week 4. However, Chase only unveiled 54 yards in Week 2, 29 yards in Week 3, and seven catches for 50 yds last week. The New Orleans Saints CB1 Marshon Lattimore will be out, so Chase will have the golden opportunity to shine against Who Dat Nation.

Joe Burrow to Ja'Marr Chase back shoulder ball is unguardable when they're on pic.twitter.com/GCjPhGDIza
— mike (@bengals_sans) October 11, 2022

2. Can Trey Hendrickson shine?

Trey Hendrickson will seek to wreak havoc against his former team this Sunday. Hendrickson only has 2.5 sacks on the season (which came against the New York Jets). He will be facing James Hurst — who has only allowed one sack this season.

3. Will Eli Apple have a quality performance?

Eli Apple will link arms with Trey Hendrickson in their attempt to fight to the death against their former squad, the New Orleans Saints. Apple was honestly underrated in my opinion last season. Well, 2022 has told a different tale about his abilities (as PFF has given him a 52.2 grade). Expect the Saints to try and match Chris Olave with Apple on deep-passing plays.

4. Will Joe Burrow have a big day?

The New Orleans Saints made Geno Smith look like Tom Brady a week ago (as Smith unveiled 3 passing touchdowns to 0 interceptions and a 139.7 passer rating). Burrow has the perfect opportunity to have a big day against a Saints defense that has been mediocre on the back end as of late. The former LSU QB has only thrown more than two touchdowns once this season. Hopefully, Burrow & Chase can start clicking in Lousiana once again.

5. Will La’el Collins play well against Cameron Jordan?

The Bengals signed La’el Collins this past off-season and anticipated him to be a star at tackle for their shiny offensive trio. Collins has blatantly been a bust for their OL this season. He’s earned a porous 53.2 grade by PFF thus far. It won’t be easy for him to return to being a stud against Cameron Jordan, who had a pair of sacks last week.

Week 5 Bold Predictions right now

By: Jake Rajala

The first chapter of Week 5 is thankfully in the books (except for the memes). In a couple of days, the main entree of Week 5 will be served. With that said, I’m going to take a fun, unique angle by untwining five bold predictions for Week 5! Let’s begin.

Micah Parsons and Aaron Donald each have at least two sacks

The 3-1 Dallas Cowboys battle the loaded, yet disappointing 2-2 Los Angeles Rams this weekend. Each NFC Team exhibits a greek-god-like defender. The Boys have second-year (yes, you read that correctly) Micah Parsons, while the Rams carry the mythical Aaron Donald. Parsons had two sacks in Week 1 and two sacks in Week 2. Meanwhile, AD is still looking to have a splash performance this season. I foresee each Parsons rising on the big stage by having a couple of sacks and AD dismantling the Boys OL (that won’t even have Jason Peterson) for two sacks.

.@stephenasmith would rather have Micah Parsons over Aaron Donald ?

"Micah Parsons is the STAR of the Dallas Cowboys. … Micah Parsons is just on another level." pic.twitter.com/eeKB7ew0Yp
— First Take (@FirstTake) October 6, 2022

Geno Smith throws three touchdowns

The New Orleans Saints may have been drinking the same cool aid that the Denver Broncos tasted this past off-season. The Saints managed to allow the Carolina Panthers to have their first win since the Pyramids were built, then they strangely lost to Tom Brady in the regular season, and then their defense bled against Justin Jefferson last week. I expect DK Metcalf, who torched the Saints last season, to have a monster performance in Week 5. With that said, I expect his QB to throw a few touchdowns. All in all, I expect the Hawks to ascend and the Saints to descend in Week 5.

Ja’Marr Chase has 150+ receiving yards and 2+ touchdowns

The Baltimore Ravens weren’t sexy against Tyreek Hill & I anticipate the utterly explosive Ja’Marr Chase to also hurt the Ravens secondary. Chase is still waiting to pop onto the scene this season, but he should find gold in a pivotal moment of the season against his arch-nemesis.

Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase vs the Ravens pic.twitter.com/grLrQkUZwy
— Just Another Bengals Fan (@JustaBengalsFan) October 5, 2022

Tom Brady throws five touchdowns

It may not seem dreamy to predict the GOAT Tom Brady to go off in Week 5, but he has the golden opportunity to pad his stats against a pedestrian Atlanta Falcons defense. Let’s not forget that Chris Godwin is healthy & hungry to feast again.

The Raiders defeat the Chiefs

Let’s be honest — Josh McDaniels isn’t feeling super-chill at 1-3 and bottom of the AFC West. The Raiders have a prime opportunity to bounce back against a divisional foe that lost to Matt Ryan not too long ago. Davante Adams can absolutely win his match-up against L’Jarius Sneed. The Raiders can’t afford to be 1-4 and I predict them getting a crucial win against a foe that doesn’t have every advantage against them.

The Bengals WR duo has a freakish ceiling

By: Adam Hulse (@AdamHulseSports)

When thinking about the best WR duo in the NFL, a few combinations come to mind such as AJ Brown and Julio Jones of the Tennessee Titans, Mike Evans and Chris Godwin of the Tampa Bay Bucs, DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett of the Seattle Seahawks, and a few others as well. One team that doesn’t come up right away, at least not yet, is the Cincinnati Bengals. That could change in the very near future because the Bengals have an extremely talented, and very young, pair of WRs in second year player Tee Higgins and rookie Ja’Marr Chase. When paired with the fact that they have a young and promising quarterback in Joe Burrow throwing them the ball, the future is extremely bright for the Bengals offense. They could soon have the very best WR duo in the NFL if things go according to plan for them.

Tee Higgins

After being selected in the second round out of Clemson in the 2020 NFL Draft, the 6’4 and 215 pound Tee Higgins put together a very impressive rookie campaign. He played in all 16 games while registering 67 receptions on 108 targets for 908 yards and 6 touchdowns. He leads the entire Bengals team in total yards, touchdowns, yards per reception with 13.6, and receiving yards per game with 56.8. He was also second on the team in both receptions and targets, trailing only Tyler Boyd. He was clearly a huge part of their offense and one of the best players on the team. The break out rookie should continue to improve through the offseason, while also continuing to develop chemistry with Joe Burrow, and has the potential to be a top tier WR in the NFL this coming season and beyond, all things considered. It will be very intriguing to see what how good of a player he can really turn into if he does in fact take that next step.

Tee Higgins breakout coming ? pic.twitter.com/Iu9PB8fIjr
— PFF Fantasy Football (@PFF_Fantasy) July 24, 2021

Ja’Marr Chase

At 6’1 and 201 pounds with lightning speed and excellent leaping ability, the rookie WR out of LSU has all of the tools to be an elite playmaker at the NFL level. That is one of the main reasons why the Bengals selected Chase with their 5th overall pick in the NFL Draft this year. The other main reason is the connection between him and quarterback Joe Burrow, who the Bengals selected first overall in the previous draft. Specifically, in 2019 when they played together at LSU, Chase and Burrow put together one of the best WR and QB seasons of all time, respectively. In 14 starts that year, Chase recorded 84 receptions for 1780 yards and 20 touchdowns on his way to winning the Biletnikoff Award. He capped off that amazing season with a national championship by contributing 9 receptions for 221 yards and two touchdowns.

AFC North training camp preview: Bengals rookie WR Ja'Marr Chase looks to rekindle LSU connection with Joe Burrow (via @TheNickShook)https://t.co/3ylPXgc4Uk pic.twitter.com/xCes96YaAV
— Around The NFL (@AroundTheNFL) July 21, 2021

Chase opted to sit out of the 2020 season but clearly did enough in 2019 to earn himself a high selection in the draft. The added bonus of being able to play with the same quarterback that he did in college is what puts this connection over the top. Chemistry is something that takes a long time to develop, so it’s a huge luxury that the Bengals already have that in this QB and WR duo. The potential is sky high when it comes to Chase and his projections in the NFL, and Burrow further amplifies that. If Chase can live up to the hype and make an immediate impact as he’s expected to, then pairing him with an already productive Higgins makes them an extremely exciting WR duo to keep an eye on. If they can grow together over the next year or so, they will be one of the best in the NFL for many years to come. They are a real threat to take over the top spot, especially if Burrow blossoms to his true potential also.

Ja’Marr Chase fits well in Cincinnati

By: Alan Parker

Talent is key, but so is one’s landing spot. There are a few exceptions, like Calvin Johnson, but those types of players are always the exception not the rule. Would Justin Jefferson have dominated in Las Vegas like he did in Minnesota? Would Ruggs have burst on to the scene in Minnesota?

Ja’Marr Chase – Cincinnati Bengals

Very little to say here. Chase is reunited with his best friend Burrow who he shared an outstanding connection. I personally prefer Alabama’s Smith over Chase as a receiver, but it’s hard to argue against playing with a quarterback you know who just so happens to be an elite passer.

Only knocks here are the crowded receiving room, which he should lead of course, and the Bengals’ leaky offensive line. If Cincinnati can’t protect Burrow, and he gets injured again, Chase won’t be able to produce catching balls from – checks notes – Brandon Allen.

Grade: A

Jaylen Waddle – Miami Dolphins

Waddle reuniting with Tua, along with the aforementioned dynamic duo, continues the theme of college pairs continuing on into the NFL. Despite saying he prefers Mac Jones, Waddle should enjoy targets in Miami. However, it will be tough to be seen as he plays with Devante Parker and Will Fuller, two legitimate WR1’s, as well as the uber-athletic Mike Gesicki. Playing in the slot, Waddle should get fed but don’t expect any Rookie of the Year numbers, especially considering he is best served as a deep threat and Tua possesses only league-average arm strength.

Grade: B+

DeVonta Smith – Philadephia Eagles

If Smith had prime Carson Wentz, or most of the other twenty-something starting quarterbacks (no way there is 32 genuine starting quarterbacks in the NFL at the minute), this would be an A+ everyday. With a crystal clear path to opportunities as being Philadelphia’s best weapon from day one, Smith should get fed weekly. However, I don’t trust Hurts yet, he may surprise us, but there’s a reason he transferred to Oklahoma and went late in the second round.

Smith should get every opportunity possible in Philadelphia considering only two players had over 500 receiving yards last season, barely. He’ll be the WR1 even if Arcega-Whiteside breaks out or if Travis Fulgham turns into superman.

Grade: A-

Kadarius Toney – New York Giants

Unsurprisingly, the Giants are livid the Eagles jumped them for DeVonta Smith. He’s a superstar, who wouldn’t be? As a consolation prize they picked up Toney, who was electric at Florida. However, after playing second fiddle to Kyle Pitts, he will have to earn his targets behind Golladay, Slayton, Shephard, Barkley, and Ingram. If this was before they signed Golladay, it would be respectable as he would create a three-headed attack in New York, but this offense is too crowded with stars for Toney to stand out. Plus Daniel Jones is his quarterback, the man who has had more career fumbles than games so far.

Grade: B-

Rashod Bateman – Baltimore Ravens

Lamar Jackson’s accuracy is the only issue here. Andrews and Hollywood Brown will provide enough of a distraction to open up some room for Bateman, but not to the extent that they’ll extinguish his flame. Listed at 6-2, though he was apparently 6 foot in college, he is easily the Ravens largest receiver. He’ll need every last inch of his frame as he tries to catch balls at his ankles, behind him, and/or above his head. Jackson is an elite player, but his accuracy needs work, despite massive improvements since entering the league.

Grade: B

Elijah Moore – New York Jets

How many slot receivers does it take to change a lightbulb? Two? Three? How about the Jets receiver room with five of their top six receivers not playing primarily in the slot (either in general or last season). Trivia question, Mims was the only one to play primarily on the outside last year.

Whilst Wilson should be a good quarterback, and Saleh’s team in New York should turn things around, it will be tough for Moore to beat out incumbent Jamison Crowder on the inside or Denzel Mims and Corey Davis, two men with distinct size advantages, on the outside.

Grade: C+

Rondale Moore – Arizona Cardinals

Speed, speed, and more speed. With a blazing 4.32 time in the 40-yard dash on his pro day, probably closer to 4.4 in reality, Moore brings an ability to stretch the field that we thought Andy Isabella had already brought.

AJ Green and DeAndre Hopkins will dominate most of the targets, but with Kyler Murray’s arm and Moore’s speed, expect some exciting deep balls as well as screens taken to the house, or close to it. However, yet again we see that Moore’s ceiling here is third-fiddle, maybe even fourth considering Murray came close to catching balls himself as he did everything for Arizona last season.

Grade: B-

D’Wayne Eskridge – Seattle Seahawks

Until Russell Wilson is really let cook, and DK Metcalf as well as Tyler Lockett cease to exist, Eskridge has a long way to targets. As the third man last season, David Moore barely surpassed forty targets. Eskridge is pencilled in to be number four on the receiver depth chart. He brings some speed, and age, to the Seahawks receiver room but opportunities will be few and far between.

Grade: C

Tutu Atwell – Los Angeles Ram

At 5-9 and 155 pounds, Atwell looks more like a high school receiver than an NFL one but he’s intriguing, and surprising. With 4.4-speed and great agility, he brings something to the table but he will be hard pressed to beat out Van Jefferson for the fourth spot on the depth chart, let alone any of DeSean Jackson, Cooper Kupp and Robert Woods. This draft pick was for the long haul, and don’t expect Rookie of the Year numbers, or even 20-plus targets, this season for Atwel..

Grade: D+

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers

Who let this happen? Outside of helping confuse opposing defensive co-ordinators when they see two D. Moore’s on the depth chart, there is very little that Moore adds that Marshall doesn’t do just as well, if not better. Curtis Samuel got nearly 100 targets last season, and whilst McCaffrey’s return may lower that number, expect Marshall to get at least 80 targets this season as he helps Sam Darnold prove he’s a quality 2022 second-rounder, what the Panthers paid for him.

Grade: A

Josh Palmer – Los Angeles Chargers

I am genuinely dumbfounded that LA took Palmer. As an avid member of the Jalen Guyton fan club, I am shocked. Slower than Guyton both in straight-line speed and quickness, as well as being smaller, Palmer is the fifth name on the depth chart. Unless LA goes five wide regularly, and even then Ekeler will probably be one of those five, don’t expect to see Palmer on the field often. What were they thinking?

Where Could Ja’Marr Chase Land?

By: Chris Thomas

There are a couple of weeks until the 2021 NFL Draft that is set to take place on April 29th. A popular question asked after the draft is when is an appropriate time to draft rookie skill position players during (redraft league) fantasy drafts. This question usually won’t get answered until the dust settles from the draft and the players are all paired with their new teams.

However after weeks of speculation there have been a couple of teams that have been pinpointed as potential destinations for this years top prospects. So why wait to determine the fantasy value of these players when there already is a solid consensus of where these players can end up?

Here are the best and worst destinations for LSU Wide Receiver Ja’Marr Chase to land for his fantasy value during the 2021-22 NFL season.

Ja’Marr Chase Player Bio

Ja’Marr Chase is a junior who played wide receiver at LSU. During the 2019-20 College Football Season Ja’Marr Chase established himself as one of the country’s top wide receivers. Chase was Joe Burrow’s number one target and an essential piece for LSU’s National Championship team. Chase led college football with both 1,780 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns during his sophomore season. He was the number one receiver in an offense that featured 2020 First Round pick and offensive rookie of the year candidate Justin Jefferson and projected top-40 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft Terrace Marshall Jr.

Chase is a very complete receiver. Not only can he use his 6’0″ frame to his advantage of 50/50 jump ball situations, but he also ran a 4.39 forty during LSU’s Pro Day. He uses that speed to stretch the football field and to create separation from defenders with the ball in his hands.

Even after opting out of last season, Chase is viewed as the top receiver this year by most people who have evaluated this draft class. He is expected to be selected with a top-10 selection to become a team’s number one receiver.

Best Destination: Detriot Lions

If Ja’Marr Chase begins to slide down the draft board and is available for the Detroit Lions, they would run the card up the podium. The Lions’ biggest need is for a true number one receiver. After losing Kenny Golladay and Marvin Jones Jr. in free agency the Lions need a true number one receiver who is capable of putting up 1,000+ receiving yards in a season. Free-agent additions Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman are more complementary receivers at this point of their careers.

If Chase lands in Detroit he would immediately become Jared Goff’s number one receiver. During Goff’s time is Los Angeles multiple wide receivers have had outstanding fantasy production catching passes from him. Those receivers include Robert Woods, Brandin Cooks, and Cooper Kupp. Chase could see around ten targets a game. As he showed at LSU, Chase has the ability to extend a play. So those targets would give him more opportunity to rack up yardage and potentially get in the end zone. A huge plus would be that the Lions defense will likely not be much better than it was last year. So the Lions could be forced to pass the ball for a majority of their games. That alone should make Chase a WR2 in standard redraft leagues with the upside to be one of the top players at the position.

Worst Destination: Miami Dolphins

A team that is rumored to be interested in taking a pass catcher early in the first round is the Miami Dolphins. After trading down to the twelfth pick from third overall, Miami moved back into the top-10 swapping first-round picks with the Philadelphia Eagles at #6. Those around the league believe Miami traded back into the top-10 for one of the draft’s top pass catchers. That is even though they already have pass-catchers like DeVante Parker, Mike Gesicki, and newly signed receiver Will Fuller in place. The Dolphins’ reasoning for likely choosing to select a pass catcher at #6 is to take the best player available and also give second-year quarterback Tua Tagovailoa every opportunity to succeed including giving him fantastic weapons to distribute the ball to in the passing game.

It is not certain what Chase’s role would be if he lands in Miami. Both DeVante Parker and Will Fuller have experience being primary receiving options in the past. On top of that none of Parker, Fuller, and Chase identify as slot receivers. This means they would have to transition one of the three inside in order to have all three on the field at once.

Also last year Tua Tagovailoa looked more like a game manager than a gunslinger in his rookie. Tagovailoa’s ability to be extremely accurate and limit turnovers is what he does best. That kind of skill set combined with the fact Miami is expected to be a run-first team may limit the production of Miami’s pass catchers. Miami’s philosophy is to limit turnovers and run out the clock while limiting the opponent’s offensive production with their stellar defense. All of that may come at the expense of Miami’s newest pass-catcher who is Ja’Marr Chase in this situation.

This would make Chase a borderline flex in standard redraft leagues. He could be drafted as the first player on a fantasy rosters bench. But will surely outplay where he is drafted as the season continues and his role grows as a part of the team’s offense.

Ranking all realistic destinations for Ja’Marr Chase by potential fantasy value

Bengals Tee Higgins will impress in 2021

By: Joe Mason @josephmason94

The Bengals hit on their top two picks in the 2020 NFL draft with Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins who produced from the start and gave a promising future for this team. With Joe Burrow leading the offense and the Bengals defense finishing in the bottom half of 2020, look for this team to put up some fantasy points in 2021.

Before Joe Burrow went down with an injury in week eleven, he was averaging over 40 pass attempts per game. That ended up being good enough for second most in the league on a per game basis only behind Ben Roethlisberger. If this trend continues, this Bengals passing offense is going to be fantasy gold in 2021.

Joe Burrow has reportedly been voicing to the Bengals that he wants to be re-united with Ja’Marr Chase. It’s a real possibility they take him at pick five, but I believe they get a stud lineman at that pick to help protect Joe Burrow. For now, my analysis below assumes they look at other positions in this upcoming draft. Let’s dive into the three wideouts to see what each has to offer for this season.

Auden Tate

With the departure of AJ Green, Auden Tate moves into the Z wide receiver position. Many people forget that Auden Tate is 6’5” 228 lbs. and stepped in adequately to fill in for the injured AJ Green in 2019. Although he isn’t flashy, the targets will be there and someone will need to catch them. The Bengals had three 100+ target WRs last season with AJ Green getting 104. Now I don’t expect Auden Tate to eclipse 100, but I think 65-75 is a real possibility. That can be fantasy relevant to a certain extent as well as having some very relevant weeks.

All Auden Tate does is make absurd catches ?? @lil_t8te pic.twitter.com/4kIf5A64WP
— The Checkdown (@thecheckdown) October 20, 2019

Tate is 24 years of age and entering his fourth NFL season. He is practically free in dynasty formats and has WR3 upside with potential for boom games. A third or a fourth-round pick should get the job done.

Tyler Boyd

Boyd broke out in 2018 and has been startable in fantasy ever since. He produced WR2 numbers in 2018 and 2019 but disappointed fantasy managers in 2020 after Joe Burrow went down. But why is Tyler Boyd a screaming buy this offseason?

In 2019 in college at LSU, Joe Burrow targeted Justin Jefferson, the slot receiver, a team leading 111 times. Burrow loves the slot, and last season with Burrow at QB, Boyd was on pace for 110/1,136/5 before the knee injury which would have been good to finish as the WR11 in PPR. I believe it’s possible this offense with Burrow can produce two top-24 WRs for fantasy.

Bengals WR Tyler Boyd on this one: "I don't know how I ended up catching that one." Said it's starting to show how comfortable he and Burrow are with each other pic.twitter.com/ETDlkHcKlM
— Ben Baby (@Ben_Baby) November 4, 2020

So, what is the cost to acquire Tyler Boyd’s services? In a 1QB PPR league, you are looking at a late first round rookie pick (1.09-1.12). In a superflex league, Boyd prices out to an early rookie second (2.01-2.04).

Tee Higgins

A lot of people slept on Tee Higgins last season. With the amount of talent in the 2020 rookie WR class, it was hard to give Higgins the respect he deserved. But all he did in 2020 was produce for fantasy. One of the more impressive things he did besides some amazing sideline catches was produce even after Joe Burrow was out. He solidified himself as the true number one WR for this offense.

Just give Tee Higgins a chance?

pic.twitter.com/VpfjNUr0Y4
— PFF College (@PFF_College) November 1, 2020

Higgins has the potential to be a top 5 fantasy WR in the NFL. The community has started to realize it, which is why his price in dynasty has risen very quickly. Currently, Higgins is worth at least two first round rookie picks in a 1QB PPR league, and a first and a second in a superflex league. I actually would prefer the Higgins side in both those deals, so you would have to find an owner who is ok to part with him. I believe when it is all said and done, Tee Higgins will be the best WR from the 2020 rookie class.
