<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Reflecting on Week 3 in the NFL</h1>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By: Jake Rajala</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Week 3 is nearly completed and it was certainly an exhilarating batch of showdowns. With that said, I&#8217;m going to jump right into it &amp; untwine seven things we learned so far from Week 3 in the NFL.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Colts pick up a pivotal win against an elite opponent</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I was optimistic about the Indianapolis Colts&#8217;s chances to be successful entering 2022. I felt like my heart was broken after they started 0-1-1 and set to face off against a Prometheus-like team in Kansas City in Week 3. Well, the Colts strangely upset the Patrick Mahomes show in their own stadium by a score of 20-17. Matty Ice was crisp with the football (222 passing yards, 2 TDs, 0 ints) &amp; his defense limited Mahomes to 262 passing yds, 1 TD, and 1 INT. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">MATT RYAN AND THE 6’7 JELANI WOODS CALLED GAME IN INDY <a href="https://t.co/q4cIpcciIR">pic.twitter.com/q4cIpcciIR</a></p>&mdash; Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1574130956566691840?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 25, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">There is certainly a lot of hope for the illustrious Colts team that is led by the scary RB Jonathan Taylor. The Colts sit at 1-1-1 in the AFC South &#8212; which is behind the 2-1 Jacksonville Jaguars and in front of the 1-2 Tennessee Titans &amp; 0-2-1 Houston Texans. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Miami Dolphins look like an AFC Juggernaut</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Miami Dolphins have ascended to 3-0 &#8212; after beating the potent Baltimore Ravens squad in Week 2 &amp; the mighty Buffalo Bills in Week 3. It should be noted that Tua Tagovailoa was nicked up, yet he fought back to help his team grab the victory. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s very early in the season, but it&#8217;s hard to imagine the Phins WR group slowing down and Mike McDaniel&#8217;s brain taking a slower gear. Hill wasn&#8217;t electric against the Bills, but Waddle certainly snuck through the Bills defense and ousted 102 yards. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">? TUA TIME ?<br><br>Tagovailoa throws a BOMB to Jaylen Waddle on 3rd &amp; 22 for 45 yards!<a href="https://t.co/9GpEi6XpgV">pic.twitter.com/9GpEi6XpgV</a></p>&mdash; ClutchPoints (@ClutchPointsApp) <a href="https://twitter.com/ClutchPointsApp/status/1574119840901734403?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 25, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>The Phins defense has allowed less than 20 points in two of the last three games. </strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s really unclear if the Phins be the top seed in the AFC or have the edge over the Bills, but It looks like the Phins are a playoff team at this moment. I don&#8217;t believe that many teams want to face off against the explosive and stingy AFC East team in the post-season. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Jameis Winston struggles for the second straight week</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Jameis Winston, who is the mega-arm QB in the Big Easy, has lost his spark without Sean Payton. After throwing a whopping three interceptions in Week 2, Winston unveiled two interceptions (although, one int was on the last play) against the Carolina Panthers. Winston nearly threw a few other ints against the Panthers, but his hard-balls to the Panthers DBs laps were uncatchable. Winston has battled through minor injuries, so hopefully, he can bounce back to 100%, too. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Me watching Jameis Winston play football <a href="https://t.co/TL6TA7fHzh">pic.twitter.com/TL6TA7fHzh</a></p>&mdash; Jorge Mercado (@Merk_43) <a href="https://twitter.com/Merk_43/status/1574132872331419648?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 25, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lamar Jackson shines again</h2>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The man on a mission for a monster contract, Lamar Jackson, claimed victory against Bill Belichick and the Pats. LJ impressively accumulated five touchdowns against the Patriots. He also leads the NFL in passer rating, per CBS Sports. He is clearly seeking vengeance and his second MVP ring in his career. </p>

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Latest free agency rumors surrounding the Dolphins</h1>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By: Jake Rajala</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Miami Dolphins have clearly pressed the pedal to the metal over the past week. Mike McDaniel has recently brought in the elite left tackle Terron Armstead and speed-demon wideout Tyreek Hill. I still believe McDaniel has some tricks up his sleeve and he will look to add a few more pieces to his puzzle. With that said, here are a few profiles that the Dolphins could look to add this offseason.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">“Patrick Mahomes made Tyreek Hill” <br><br>“Tyreek Hill won’t be the same because Tua can’t throw deep” <br><br>yh ok ?<a href="https://t.co/VZBv8Vo9Lo">pic.twitter.com/VZBv8Vo9Lo</a></p>&mdash; Kevin ?? (@HollywoodxKev) <a href="https://twitter.com/HollywoodxKev/status/1506965267263414275?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 24, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Jadeveon Clowney</strong></li></ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It&#8217;s hard to believe the Dolphins aren&#8217;t the favorite to ink Jadeveon Clowney at this point in time. Clowney (9 sacks in 2021) can join a very talented defense that had the ninth most takeaways last season. The Dolphins offense could even match or surpass the talent of the Phins defense with the NFL&#8217;s top WR trio (DeVante Parker, Hill, Waddle). Last but not least, Clowney can work hard in the beautiful Miami area. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Highest pressure-rates this season (min. 100 pass-rushes):<br><br>T-1?? Myles Garrett, EDGE- 19.8%<br>3?? Jadeveon Clowney, EDGE- 19.5%<br><br>The <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/Browns?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#Browns</a> are the only team with two in the top-7 ? <a href="https://t.co/GF5fmYR0J1">pic.twitter.com/GF5fmYR0J1</a></p>&mdash; PFF CLE Browns (@PFF_Browns) <a href="https://twitter.com/PFF_Browns/status/1453090610206978050?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">October 26, 2021</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Ndamukong Suh</strong></li></ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Dolphins should aspire to sign the versatile, familar stud Ndamukong Suh on a short deal. If Suh doesn&#8217;t want to return to Tampa, he should join the loaded Dolphins team. Suh isn&#8217;t &#8220;washed up&#8221;, as he six sacks in 2021 and six sacks in 2020. He also has 16 TFLs in the past two seasons combined. Suh could be a pivotal x-factor against the Patriots and Bills time-chewing offenses.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Ndamukong Suh beats his former team with game-sealing TD ?<br><br>(via <a href="https://twitter.com/thecheckdown?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@thecheckdown</a>)<a href="https://t.co/h025GtgqEh">pic.twitter.com/h025GtgqEh</a></p>&mdash; Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) <a href="https://twitter.com/BleacherReport/status/1178454653765222400?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 29, 2019</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Anthony Barr</strong></li></ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The former Vikings Pro Bowl LB Anthony Barr could be a flexible chess piece for Josh Boyer&#8217;s defense. Barr can play inside LB, OLB, and he can come off the edge on occasion. Barr had 3 interceptions and 2.5 sacks for the Vikings last season. According to <a href="https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/03/24/vikings-still-talking-to-patrick-peterson-unlikely-to-re-sign-anthony-barr/">NBC Sports</a>, the Vikings are unlikely to re-sign Barr. He can be a better version of Kyle Van Noy for the Phins defense. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">UNREAL&#8230; ANTHONY BARR!<br><br>?: <a href="https://twitter.com/NFLonFOX?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@NFLonFOX</a> <a href="https://t.co/4G4ft6RI4z">pic.twitter.com/4G4ft6RI4z</a></p>&mdash; Minnesota Vikings (@Vikings) <a href="https://twitter.com/Vikings/status/1457457626053320705?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 7, 2021</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>Honorable mention:</strong></p>

<ul class="wp-block-list"><li><strong>Tyrann Mathieu</strong></li></ul>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">I don&#8217;t foresee the Dolphins signing Clowney and the Honey Badger, but they should look to strike gold with Clowney or Tyrann Mathieu. The former All-Pro Chiefs safety is apparently looking to get a very wealthy contract. The Dolphins recently cut ties with Allen Hurns and Jesse Davis, so they could surprise and pay the Honey Badger his due. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">&quot;Julio Jones &amp; Tyrann Mathieu could have signed at many places already but they want to get the contract they deserve&quot; ~<a href="https://twitter.com/RapSheet?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@RapSheet</a><a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/PMSLive?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#PMSLive</a> <a href="https://t.co/ajfErrXL04">pic.twitter.com/ajfErrXL04</a></p>&mdash; Pat McAfee (@PatMcAfeeShow) <a href="https://twitter.com/PatMcAfeeShow/status/1507400130856689687?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">March 25, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
