<p class="wp-block-paragraph">One of the most important statistics in fantasy football and the NFL today is player targets. There is no better indicator for player usage amongst pass catchers than their target share. The higher number of targets the more involved a player was in the passing game and the game plan overall. It&#8217;s not always that clear cut but for the most part, we get a clear indication of who the top fantasy players are by evaluating their total targets.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Before we look at next season, let&#8217;s take a look at the NFL target leaders from 2022. In the table below are the top 5 leaders in targets from last year. The first four finished in the same exact order in terms of total fantasy points amongst wide receivers (Half PPR). The only anomaly was <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/search/search.fcgi?pid=override,BrowAJ00&amp;search=A.J.+Brown&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">A.J. Brown</a> who jumped <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/L/LambCe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">CeeDee Lamb</a> and finished 5th in total fantasy points. Brown finished with 2 more touchdowns and 137 more yards.</p>

<h2 id="tablepress-7-name" class="tablepress-table-name tablepress-table-name-id-7">2022 NFL Target Leaders</h2>

<table id="tablepress-7" class="tablepress tablepress-id-7" aria-labelledby="tablepress-7-name">

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Predicting the Target Leaders for 2023-2024</h4>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Looking ahead to next season we can almost guarantee the top 5 target leaders will look different. For instance, in 2021 <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KuppCo00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Cooper Kupp</a> was the NFL target leader by a large margin +22. As we know Kupp suffered a serious ankle injury that cut his 2022 season short. Injuries aren&#8217;t the only factor to consider. Quarterback changes, coaching changes, free agency and the NFL Draft are all factors. Let&#8217;s now look at who I predict will be the NFL target leaders for next season.</p>

<h2 id="tablepress-8-name" class="tablepress-table-name tablepress-table-name-id-8">2023 NFL Target Leaders (Projected)</h2>

<table id="tablepress-8" class="tablepress tablepress-id-8" aria-labelledby="tablepress-8-name">

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/J/JeffJu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Justin Jefferson</a> will once again be the king of targets. I slotted his targets down but only slightly. This is due to the Minnesota Vikings adding Jordan Addison in the draft. It will take some time to get Addison up to speed but once he&#8217;s ready he should be productive in this offense. Also, keep in mind that <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/ThieAd00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Adam Thielen</a> is no longer with the team.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/D/DiggSt00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Stefon Diggs</a> will make the jump from #4 to #2 overall in targets. I am predicting 14 more targets for Diggs as he and <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/search/search.fcgi?pid=AlleJo02,AlleJo03,AlleJo00&amp;search=Josh+Allen&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Josh Allen</a> continue to develop their chemistry. If somehow the Buffalo Bills end up grabbing <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HopkDe00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">DeAndre Hopkins</a> I may re-adjust Diggs&#8217; total targets.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><a rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/H/HillTy00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr">Tyreek Hill</a>&#8216;s targets will drop but not by much. He will once again be the focal point in the Miami Dolphins offense. One major thing to keep an eye on is the health of <a rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/T/TagoTu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr">Tua Tagovailoa</a>. Can he stay healthy the entire season?</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Next up it&#8217;s our first newcomer on the list. <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/W/WilsGa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Garrett Wilson</a> finished just outside the top 5 last year in total targets. Now with the addition of <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/R/RodgAa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Aaron Rodgers</a>, I expect his numbers to climb. I am not worried about <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/L/LazaAl00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Allen Lazard</a> and <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/C/CobbRa00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Randall Cobb</a> taking targets away. Wilson is the Jets #1 WR and they will continue to lean on him.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Last on the list is the always reliable <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/K/KelcTr00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Travis Kelce</a>. Kelce finished 6th last season in total targets with 152. I expect him to hover around this range again in 2023-2024. The Chiefs no longer have <a href="https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/SmitJu00.htm?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=profootballmania.com&amp;utm_campaign=2023-05-30_pfr" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">JuJu Smith-Schuster</a> and still lack a true #1 receiver. All that means is more target share for the great tight end.</p>

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Who is the most overrated player on the Packers?</h1>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By: Jake Rajala </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Pack will continue to strive for their second Lombardi trophy with the ageless Aaron Rodgers. Although, it will be difficult to return to the big dance without Davante Adams. So, I&#8217;m going to untwine three underperforming profiles on the Packers that need to help their two-time reigning MVP lead the Packers to Super Bowl glory.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">It’s Saints week which means it’s completely appropriate to relive this epic moment by Randall Cobb <a href="https://t.co/CdLqEj0mV1">pic.twitter.com/CdLqEj0mV1</a></p>&mdash; Perri Goldstein (@perri_goldstein) <a href="https://twitter.com/perri_goldstein/status/1309160747604283392?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">September 24, 2020</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Randall Cobb</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Randall Cobb might be a Packers legend, but he is also a 31-year-old coming off his least productive season in receiving yards since his rookie campaign. As widely enunciated, Tae is getting milkshakes with Derek Carr, so Cobb needs to bounce back in the young WR room. I expect Christian Watson to be a stud, but Cobb (who may be playing his final season in Green Bay) absolutely needs to be the ole reliable weapon for A-Rod moving forward.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Robert Tonyan</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Robert Tonyan was from another planet in 2020, as he recorded 11 touchdowns and garnered comparisons to Gronk. In 2021, he made countless cheeseheads believe that he was a fluke, or perhaps a talent like James Jones that would play above his athletic ability with the Packers HOF QB. Tonyan recorded 204 yds and 2 touchdowns in 8 games a season ago. A-Rod will definitely want the x-factor Tonyan to be healthy, motivated this summer, and in-sync early on. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">

</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><em>Jarran Reed</em></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Jarran Reed might be a shiny, $4.5 million dollar face in Green Bay, but he needs to elevate his craft in 2022. Reed has the potential to be a stellar IDL and he&#8217;s been a force against the run. It should be noted that his pass-rushing ability has been up and down. He recorded 10.5 sacks and 24 QB hits in 2018 and 6.5 sacks and 14 QB hits in 2020. Although, he took a slight south turn in 2021: 2.5 sacks and 12 QB hits. He will look to return to being a successful pass-rusher next to Kenny Clark moving forward. </p>

<h1 class="wp-block-heading">Who is the best WR target for the Packers?</h1>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">By: Jake Rajala</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Green Bay Packers chose to not select a wide receiver in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Aaron Rodgers was still a huge fan of the fellow NFC North draft&#8217;s selection of Jameson Williams. Nonetheless, A-Rod was able to garner a rookie WR with quality potential in round two in Christian Watson. The new Packer will help Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb fuel the 2020 and 2021 MVP signal-caller. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">.<a href="https://twitter.com/ChristianW2017?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ChristianW2017</a> showing the hands. ??<a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/GoPackGo?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#GoPackGo</a> <a href="https://t.co/VYmpzX0tDU">pic.twitter.com/VYmpzX0tDU</a></p>&mdash; Green Bay Packers (@packers) <a href="https://twitter.com/packers/status/1522683643268902914?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">May 6, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">With that stated, it would make sense if the Packers brought in a talented/veteran WR for competition. Here are five wide-outs that would be exciting, unique additions for GB. </p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Will Fuller</span></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The New Orleans Saints signed a big-name player (Tyrann Mathieu) at a key position after the draft and it might be time for the Packers to ink a household profile at a need position post the NFL draft, as well. The explosive WR Will Fuller has flirted with the Pack in prior years but would definitely be the perfect fit for the Packers in 2022 (to say the least). He can be a fantastic deep threat, which should bring music to Matt LaFleur&#8217;s ears. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Julio Jones and Will Fuller to the Packers confirmed.</p>&mdash; Jake Trowbridge (@JakeTrowbridge) <a href="https://twitter.com/JakeTrowbridge/status/1519884155965911040?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 29, 2022</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Desean Jackson</span></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The idea of GB signing Desean Jackson isn&#8217;t sexy, but the Eagles legend might be a nice value signing for Matt LaFleur&#8217;s squad. He quietly contributed 454 yards for LA/LV last season. After Jackson signed with Sean McVay&#8217;s dream team in 2021, he likely wants to play for a Super Bowl contender at this stage in his career, too. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper">
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Desean Jackson caught a touchdown. <br><br>It is Thanksgiving. <br><br> <a href="https://t.co/McDH9TKqUI">pic.twitter.com/McDH9TKqUI</a></p>&mdash; Jeff Bell (@4WhomJBellTolls) <a href="https://twitter.com/4WhomJBellTolls/status/1463987890766163978?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">November 25, 2021</a></blockquote><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
</div></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Odell Beckham Jr.</span></strong></p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">OBJ may not reunite with Los Angeles or New Orleans, so he could be tempted to sign with a different NFC contender: Green Bay. If the Packers could sign Beckham Jr, they could have a quality WR room in the back-end of next season. He may also help Rodgers stay away from a retirement home beyond 2022. </p>
