Potential trades for the Los Angeles Rams in 2022

By: Jake Rajala

The Los Angeles Rams have a head coach named Sean McVay that doesn’t play by the rules. The man that should be sponsored by five-hour energy will always be trigger-happy to make the right NFL trades. With that enunciated, I’m going to untwine five potential trades for the LA Rams in 2022.

Trade for WR Corey Davis

The Allen Robinson experiment doesn’t look promising — as he’s merely unleashed five catches for 65 yards and one touchdown in two games thus far. If the Rams aren’t able to bring in another toy (such as OBJ), I’d love to see them reel in a big-body WR elsewhere. I feel that Corey Davis would be a splendid fit for the Rams. He has ousted 160 yards and a TD in two contests with the mediocre NY Jets offense. I expect him to be a Pro Bowl WR with McVay and Matthew Stafford. Plus, the Jets may be more lenient to shipping him away — as they still have Garrett Wilson, Elijah Moore, and Braxton Berrios.

"Man, I'm just proud of this team!"

– Corey Davis to @JeaneCoakley pic.twitter.com/yZTqjDXp5Y
— Jets Videos (@snyjets) September 18, 2022

Trade for CB Paulson Adebo

The Rams secondary clearly hasn’t been talented enough to stop opposing signal-callers. Jalen Ramsey also hasn’t been off to a hot start in 2022. It may be wise to bring in a ferocious, young CB moving forward. I’d love to see them target Paulson Adebo, who is coming back healthy for the Saints. The Saints still have Marshon Lattimore (of course), P.J. Williams, Alontae Taylor, and Bradley Roby at the CB spot.

Trade for WR Scotty Miller

The deep-threat Scotty Miller had a disappointing performance against the Saints in Week 2. With that said, it may be wise for the Rams to throw a late-round pick for him and insert his speed into their offense. The Rams had some success with Desean Jackson last season. Perhaps Miller can be an x-factor with the Rams play-action this season.

We kept Scotty Miller just for him to not step up when we need him to
— ?? (@DJBucsFan) September 18, 2022

Trade for DE Montez Sweat

Montez Sweat may be a hard profile to snag, but his talent and fit would be perfect for Washington. Sweat unveiled 21 sacks, 36 QB hits, 7 QB hits, 7 FFs, in his first 42 games. The Rams weren’t able to bring back Von Miller or ink Jadeveon Clowney. Perhaps they can make a creative move by acquiring the explosive, young DE in Washington.

Trade for TE Robert Tonyan

It may be an underrated move to reel in an underperforming, yet talented, face in TE Robert Tonyan. The Packers TE had a whopping 11 touchdowns in 2020. He hasn’t been able to get into the right rhythm with A-Rod over the past year. The Packers TE could resurrect his career with LA and potentially be a legit red zone threat in the Rams aerial attack.

Reflecting on the Buccaneers depth chart

By: Jake Rajala

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers mythical quarterback Tom Brady has played in five of the past eight Super Bowl showdowns (and he’s won four of his past five SB match-ups). The Brady bunch don’t have a Gronk, but they still plan on returning to the big dance in the upcoming season. The Bucs recently released their first depth chart- which will allow Bucs fans to know which profiles currently are pegged as starters. It’s also more clear at this point than in April which underrated players will be relied on. With that said, I’m going to untwine five takeaways from the Buccaneers depth chart.

#Bucs WR Mike Evans is working out individually. QB Tom Brady is running but just in a t-shirt, not in his usual orange practice jersey. pic.twitter.com/QO6x0WsXKa
— PewterReport ???? (@PewterReport) August 9, 2022

Ke’Shawn Vaughn

The Bucs moved on from veteran RB Ronald Jones this off-season and the question was: who will be the Bucs RB2 in 2022? The Bucs drafted Rachaad White in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, but he is pegged as one of the fourth ball-carriers w/ Kenjon Barner at this moment. The second listed RB in line is none other than Ke’Shawn Vaughn, who is entering his third season in the league. Vaughn may have the hot hand early on in the 2022 season until White can fully grasp the system and earn TB12’s trust.

Kyle Rudolph

The Bucs made an underrated signing in TE Kyle Rudolph this off-season. The former Vikings TE will certainly help heal the wound that Gronk left behind. It will be fascinating to see how productive he and the other new FA weapon Julio Jones can be in 2022.

Kyle Rudolph ?

This is crazy ?

(via @thecheckdown)pic.twitter.com/9CgPDipxbD
— SportsCenter (@SportsCenter) November 11, 2019

Julio Jones

It isn’t a question that Julio Jones is a future HOF WR. Although, it’s uncertain how much gas he has left in the tank and if he can stay healthy. Jones notched 434 yds in 10 contests game last season and 771 yds in 9 games the season prior. He is likely the fourth most involved WR, but he might turn back the clock and be more explosive than Russell Gage.

Robert Hainsey

The Bucs beloved center Ryan Jensen is unfortunately out of the lineup for at least the new few months. Robert Hainsey is slotted to be the Bucs starting center w/ Jensen on the sidelines. He was selected in the third round of the 2021 draft. He only played 31 snaps in 2021, so it’s crucial that he can get up to speed and only have growing pains in the preseason. He’s ultimately the x-factor on the Bucs offense in my opinion.

Video: Tom Brady says he’s “heartbroken” to have Ryan Jensen injured but says Robert Hainsey has worked hard to earn the trust of a lot of people in the past year. pic.twitter.com/rYm34QqGMn
— Greg Auman (@gregauman) August 1, 2022

Scotty Miller

The Bucs WR Scotty Miller infamously burned Kevin King in the NFC Championship and then fell off a cliff. It’s clearly past time to believe that Miller will breakout for his seven-time Super Bowl champion QB. Miller is slotted behind Russell Gage on the depth chart, but it’s not looking promising for him to be involved in the Bucs crowded WR room. It may even be best for them to trade away the 25-year-old WR. Evan Reier of Heavy. suggests that the Cowboys should pull the trigger for the speed demon.

Will the Buccaneers win another Super Bowl soon?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have witnessed the return of the prolific Tom Brady and they will attempt to win their second Super Bowl together in three years together. Brady has the presence of Ivan Drago, but he carries the same unshakeable chip on his shoulder that Rocky Balboa yields.

Still the best way to get some cardio in… @Edelman11 pic.twitter.com/vT3pCWs6VF
— Tom Brady (@TomBrady) March 21, 2022

The Buccaneers will really need to climb a mountain if they want to win another Super Bowl in the near future. The Bucs have surreal competition spine-chilling competition in the NFC and they won’t have the same roster that won Super Bowl LV. Nonetheless, the Bucs could still have a positive and unique journey to win Super Bowl LVII. With that said, here are three reasons why they can win Super Bowl LVII.

The rise of Joe Tryon

The Bucs didn’t win their last Super Bowl by dropping a 40 burger in each playoff contest. Of course, TB12 and his band of misfits were firing off all cylinders. Yet, it was the Bucs defense and front seven that made life very miserable for Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, and Patrick Mahomes.

The Bucs will likely not have Jason Pierre-Paul (who could sign with Dallas) and Ndamukong Suh (who may retire), but they will be able to offer plenty of meat on the plate to the second-year pass rusher Joe Tryon. Their 2021 first-round pick ousted four sacks and 10 QB hits on a rotational role last season. Expect Tryon to take that common sophomore pass rusher leap and help Shaq Barrett constantly harrass NFC signal-callers next season.

JOE TRYON pic.twitter.com/8tf8DWVWVs
— Paul Atwal (@AtwalNFL) August 15, 2021

Scotty Miller

I really like the potential of the 24-year-old Scotty Miller. Kay Adams has gushed over Miller and I believe his coming-out party will be in 2022. The speed demon will replace Antonio Brown nicely in my opinion and he will offer a unique skill set in the Bucs offense. When the speedster Brandin Cooks played a year with Brady in 2017, he unveiled a career-high in YPC (16.6). His second regular season-best YPC is 15.1.

Miller spent a large portion of the 2021 season on IR, but I feel comfortable that the hungry wideout will be healthy and ready to be a big part of the Bucs offense moving forward. Arians will routinely be brewing up shots down the field to the third year wideout in 2022.

BRADY TO SCOTTY MILLER TD TO END THE HALF ?

(via @NFL)pic.twitter.com/V8btMA00Ny
— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) January 24, 2021

The Von Miller-less Los Angeles Rams

Sean McVay might have reeled in the shiny Allen Robinson and axed Robert Woods, but I believe the Rams will struggle to replace the mighty Von Miller. The former Rams sack artist had four sacks in the recent playoff gauntlet (2 sacks in Super Bowl LVI).

The Rams barely edged out the Brady bunch in the last postseason, as McVay’s squad won 30-27. The Rams will still have a lethal offense in the inevitable big showdown against the Bucs next season, but they will be without a star pass rusher across from Aaron Donald against the reigning NFC South champions.

.@VonMiller is joining a @BuffaloBills defense that did this in 2021:

PPG allowed: 17 (1st in NFL)
Total YPG: 272.8 (1st in NFL)
Pass YPG: 163.0 (1st in NFL)
3rd Down %: 30.8 (1st in NFL)
Opp Passer Rating: 65.3 (1st in NFL) pic.twitter.com/zm9F0liB1b
— NFL (@NFL) March 16, 2022
