It’s week 5 in the NFL and we are back with our waiver wire pickups of the week. There are still plenty of players to target on the waiver that are less than 50% owned in fantasy football leagues. Let’s break down those names below and why you should pick them up.

Quarterbacks

Joshua Dobbs – (3.6% Owned)

Now that we have a good sample size of his play it’s time to put Dobbs on the radar. Dobbs was impressive in week 4 despite playing a stacked 49ers defense. Sunday was the second time this season he finished with 20+ fantasy points and was inside the weekly top 10 for quarterbacks. Dobbs also gives you the rushing element and already has a rushing touchdown this year. If you need a quarterback, Dobbs is worth a look.

Running Backs

Embed from Getty Images

Jaleel McLaughlin – (2.3% Owned)

McLaughlin will be the priority on the waiver wire this week as he filled in well for the injured Javonte Williams. Williams left the matchup with a hip injury and McLaughlin took advantage. He had 104 all-purpose yards and 1 receiving touchdown. If Williams misses time McLaughlin will likely slide into that starting role and the rookie looks to be ready for it.

Wide Receivers

Jameson Williams – (24.2% Owned)

If Williams is somehow still available in your league he is absolutely worth grabbing. Williams had his suspension reduced due to the new NFL betting rules and is immediately eligible to play. His talent is just too good to ignore and he should see plenty of opportunities in the Lions offense that is already thriving. Williams is a gamble but he could really pay off later in the season due to his big play ability.

Tight Ends

Dalton Schultz – (45.3% Owned)

One of the surprises of the early season is how good the Houston Texans offense has looked. Houston has scored 30 points in back-to-back games as C.J. Stroud is coming into his own. Texans tight end Dalton Schultz had been quiet thus far but picked up his first touchdown of the season on Sunday. This was good enough for a top 5 weekly finish as Schultz also had 42 receiving yards. I would still like to see more consistency from him but if you’re thin at the position he is worth picking up.

We’re already heading into week 4 of the fantasy football season and we now have a good idea of how teams are shaping up. If players have yet to perform on your bench it’s a good time to drop them in favor of waiver wire targets. This week we have several intriguing players that you should focus on.

Quarterbacks

C.J. Stroud – (15.5% Owned)

Stroud is starting to come into his own for the Houston Texans. Houston put up one of the more impressive performances of the week in a blowout win at Jacksonville. Stroud completed 66.67% of his passes and had 2 passing touchdowns in the game. More importantly, he had zero interceptions in the contest. In fact, Stroud has yet to throw a pick this year which is encouraging for a young quarterback. He is now worth picking up and starting if you’re struggling at the quarterback position.

Running Backs

De’Von Achane – (29.1% Owned)

Achane will certainly be the #1 waiver wire target this week after an insane 49.3 FP output against the Denver Broncos. It wasn’t just Achane for the Dolphins, Raheem Mostert also went off on a record-setting day for Miami. The question now going forward is if Achane is worth starting. Even in a crowded Dolphins backfield, the answer is yes. Achane has elite-level speed and in that offense, he can take it to the house at any moment.

Wide Receivers

Tank Dell – (28.2% Owned)

Dell exploded on Sunday for 145 yards and 1 touchdown in the Texans win. He is building a nice chemistry with C.J. Stroud and this Houston offense is looking much better than expected. Dell has had 17 targets in his last 2 starts and is a significant piece in this Texans offense. He is not a one-week wonder, Dell is worth picking up if he is available in your league.

Quentin Johnston – (39.6% Owned)

Johnston has been non-existent in the first three games but that’s about to change. The Chargers were dealt a blow as Mike Williams is now out for the season with an ACL injury. It’s time for Johnston to step into this role as WR2 for Los Angeles. While the production hasn’t been there yet there will be plenty of opportunities going forward. If you’re in a deep league, Joshua Palmer is also worth a look.

Tight Ends

Luke Musgrave – (16.2% Owned)

While Musgrave has yet to score for Green Bay week 3 he showed some encouraging signs. Musgrave had 6 receptions on 8 targets for 49 yards. He has also played in over 85% of snaps on offense for the Packers the past two weeks. The tight end position is always the trickiest to master in fantasy but this usage is what we like to see. Musgrave is worth stashing on your bench as he continues to develop.

We are back with our waiver wire pickups for week 3 of the NFL season. There were some pretty significant injuries to running backs including Nick Chubb who is likely lost for the season. Before you make your waiver wire claims check out our suggestions below of who to pick up.

Quarterbacks

Matthew Stafford – (32.3% Owned)

It turns out Stafford can still have success without Cooper Kupp. Stafford has thrown for over 300+ yards in his first two games as he continues to build rapport with his young receivers. One of those targets is of course Puka Nacua who is on a record-breaking pace in his rookie season. If you’re struggling at the quarterback position, Stafford is worth a look.

Running Backs

Jerome Ford – (13.1% Owned)

We now know star running back Nick Chubb is out for the season which means it’s Jerome Ford’s time to shine. Chubb suffered a gruesome knee injury on Monday night that was so bad they couldn’t show the replay. In his absence, Ford showed he is more than capable of taking over the lead-back role. Ford finished with 106 rushing yards including an impressive 69-yard scamper. Cleveland will need more of that from him to have any chance this season.

Matt Breida – (1.6% Owned)

Another key injury at the running back position was to Saquon Barkley who went down with an ankle injury. It looks as of now that Barkley will miss 2-3 weeks as he recovers. Matt Breida will most likely take over the starting duties but don’t expect huge production. Breida has been quiet thus far this season and should only be claimed if you are deep at the RB position.

Jaylen Warren – (40.7% Owned)

Now is the time to pick up Jaylen Warren if he is available in your league. Warren has looked like the more explosive back in the Pittsburgh Steelers backfield thus far. With Najee Harris struggling it’s only a matter of time until Warren gets more touches. What should you do with Harris? It’s time to think about putting him on the trade block.

Wide Receivers

Skyy Moore – (59.6% Owned)

It took a while but Skyy Moore finally showed his upside in week 2. Moore caught his first NFL receiving touchdown versus the Jaguars as he finished with 70 yards on the day. It’s still too early to lock him into your starting lineup but this is encouraging for Moore going forward.

Marvin Mims Jr. – (15.1% Owned)

The volume isn’t there yet but Mims Jr. showcased his speed on Sunday against the Washington Commanders. Mims Jr. had 113 yards on only 2 targets including a touchdown. He was also impressive on special teams as he returned a punt for 45 yards. If Mims and Russell Wilson can continue to build chemistry he could be a big threat in the Broncos offense.

Tight Ends

Zach Ertz – (29.2% Owned)

Zach Ertz hasn’t found the end zone yet in 2023 but the volume has been there.
Here we are again with another edition of our Fantasy Football waiver wire pickups of the week. Last week one of our featured pickups was Jerick McKinnon and boy did he deliver. McKinnon posted over 26 points in Standard leagues and now has back to back 20+ fantasy points in his last 2 games. If you are still searching the waiver wire congratulations as you are now deep in the fantasy football playoffs. Let’s take a look at our waiver wire pickups for week 16.

Quarterbacks

Gardner Minshew – QB Philadelphia Eagles

Out of the gate we start with some unfortunate news on Jalen Hurts. It looks like he suffered a shoulder strain that will keep him out for a couple weeks. If you’re a Hurts owner this is not the news you wanted heading into your crucial playoff game this weekend. In steps Gardner Minshew whom doesn’t have the same upside as Hurts but can put up solid numbers with all the talent around him.

Running Backs

Zack Moss – RB Indianapolis Colts

More unfortunate injuries this time at the running back position. Jonathan Taylor will officially be shut down for the season due to his high ankle sprain. The next man up appears to be Zack Moss as he totaled 24 carries in the loss to the Vikings for 81 yards. This development is a bit surprising as many expected Deon Jackson to step into that lead role. Jackson is still worth stashing but Moss is our top waiver priority for week 16.

Wide Receivers

Zay Jones – WR Jacksonville Jaguars

Zay Jones lit up the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday hauling in 3 touchdowns and 109 yards. The last 4 weeks he has seen a whopping 41 targets from his emerging QB Trevor Lawrence. If somehow Jones is available in your league you should prioritize picking him up. The Jaguars offense is getting hot at the right time and Jones should continue to soar.

Tight Ends

Dallas Goedert – TE Philadelphia Eagles

Goedert is getting set to come back off of IR and could be on track to play this weekend. More than likely he was dropped a while back when he suffered his shoulder injury. Goedert has shown he can put up solid fantasy numbers and if you need to stream a TE for your pivotal matchup this is the guy.

Latest Waiver Wire targets in Week 2

By: Jake Rajala

Week 1 is nearly in the books and it surely didn’t disappoint. There were a few games that were more entertaining than the first season of Squid Game. Furthermore, there were a ton of under-the-radar players that dazzled and deserved to grab the attention of fantasy owners. With that said, I’m going to untwine several waiver wire targets in Week 2.

Holy smokes. Baker Mayfield launches a Hail Mary and Donovan Peoples-Jones comes down with it! pic.twitter.com/EucELAu2lq
— Ari Meirov (@MySportsUpdate) October 17, 2021

Donovan Peoples-Jones

The Cleveland Browns wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones may not have the same resume as Amari Cooper, but he still led the Browns in targets, receptions, and receiving yards yesterday. He is only rostered in 4% of the Yahoo leagues. DPJ should continue to garner excellent match-ups as the WR2 and I expect him to really blossom with Deshaun Watson late in the season.

Marcus Mariota

I honestly loved Marcus Mariota’s performance in Week 1. The former Heisman winner didn’t come out with a victory against the New Orleans Saints, but he did have 215 passing yards, a potent 72 rushing yards, and a touchdown (and a fumble). It’s also worth noting that Mariota performed well against a likely Top-3 defense in New Orleans.

Welcome to ATL Marcus Mariota. pic.twitter.com/QuRn5SHc2v
— Atlanta Falcons (@AtlantaFalcons) September 11, 2022

Julio Jones

It was noted that Julio Jones was the fastest player on the Buccaneers this off-season. Jones didn’t exactly appear to be washed up in Week 1. The Falcons legend connected with Tom Brady on a 48-yard pass & finished with three catches for 69 yards. Jones is rostered in 62% of Yahoo leagues.

Jameis Winston

The third NFC South player on this list, Jameis Winston, started to really cook in the fourth quarter of the Saints-Falcons game. Winston unleashed 13 completions on 16 attempts, 213 passing yards, 2 passing TDs, and 0 interceptions. It’s also refreshing to see Michael Thomas back and healthy for his QB (2 TDs in Week 1).

Saints record w/ Jameis Winston as QB1:

6-2 pic.twitter.com/In56mIf9IN
— CBS Sports (@CBSSports) September 11, 2022

Jeff Wilson

The illustrious 49ers RB Elijah Mitchell could miss numerous contests after his hurting his knee in Week 1. The 49ers RB2 is none other than Jeff Wilson. His most productive campaign was in 2020 (600 rushing yards, 7 rushing TDs, and 4.8 YPC). He is currently rostered in 16% of Yahoo leagues.

Rex Burkhead

Rex Burkhead was certainly involved all-around for the Houston Texans on Sunday. He had 40 rushing yards and five catches from Davis Mills. The 32-year-old RB refuses to decay. He is only rostered in 13% of Yahoo leagues and 17% of ESPN leagues.

Cleveland Browns defense

Myles Garrett was an absolute menace against his former QB Baker Mayfield on Sunday. He sacked Mayfield twice (and almost a third time). The best part is that the hungry Browns team faces a Joe Flacco-led Jets team in Week 2.

Myles Garrett with back to back sacks on his old teammate Baker… #DawgPound pic.twitter.com/5FZgEENB5Q
— Emmanuel Acho (@EmmanuelAcho) September 11, 2022

Here are the waiver wire targets for Week 6

By Calvin K (Twitter: @Calvin_SGF)

The Sunday slate of NFL Week 5 action has officially wrapped up, and Sunday’s games were wild, featuring upsets, shootouts, and plenty of new storylines to unpack. As always, a new week brings new discussions regarding the fantasy football waiver wire. In this article, I’ll be naming my top five players to target on waivers this week.

Kadarius Toney put the moves on Trevon Diggs ?
pic.twitter.com/akh70NWrY3
— PFF (@PFF) October 10, 2021

(NOTE: These players are rostered in 40% or less of ESPN leagues)

Kadarius Toney (WR, New York Giants)

Toney exploded against the Cowboys on Sunday, hauling in 10 passes for a whopping 189 yards on 13 targets. The first-rounder out of Florida was able to take advantage of his many opportunities, and with Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton, and Kenny Golladay injured for most or all of Sunday’s contest, he was forced into a heavy role out of necessity.

Toney was viewed mostly as a gadget player upon his entrance to the NFL, but yesterday’s performance proved he can succeed at all levels of the field. Toney is still at his best when his touches are manufactured, but he proved himself as a route-runner and separator as well. This will hopefully lead to more opportunities for Toney in the future, and we now have two weeks of evidence that he can be heavily involved in the Giants’ offense, making him more likely to retain much of his role even when his fellow wide receivers return.

Devontae Booker (RB, New York Giants)

Booker was another beneficiary of New York’s void in playmakers, and he racked up 19 touches on Sunday after starting running back Saquon Barkley left the game with a sprained ankle. Barkley’s injury is not believed to be serious, and he’s only expected to miss a week or two, but Booker should still be rostered in every league purely because of his potential for a heavy workload.

Booker was somewhat inefficient on Sunday, averaging just 2.6 yards per carry, but his fantasy day was carried by two touchdowns, one on the ground and one through the air. Those goal-line opportunities will make him a borderline starting option at running back. Although he’ll likely only be a short-term factor, Booker is really the only starting RB who is widely available right now, making him well worth a modest waiver bid.

Mac Jones to Hunter Henry for a touchdown ?? pic.twitter.com/vO8ENuYTx8
— Pats Buzz (@PatsBuzz) October 10, 2021

Hunter Henry (TE, New England Patriots)

Henry has established himself as the tight end of choice in New England, and with 19 targets in his past three games, he’s become a favorite target of Patriots quarterback Mac Jones. Henry has now picked up a touchdown in back-to-back games as well, and he turned in his best performance of the year against the Texans this week, catching six or eight targets for 75 yards and a score.

It may be too soon to consider Henry as a permanent starting tight end, but he’s certainly become a decent streaming option for any tight-end-needy team. His future schedule is also looking bright, with matchups against the Cowboys and Jets coming up over the next two weeks. Henry seems like a good bet to continue his run of success in those matchups, making him someone you should certainly consider rostering on your fantasy team.

Tim Patrick (WR, Denver Broncos)

Patrick continued his stretch of productivity on Sunday, catching seven of nine targets for 89 yards against Baltimore. With K.J. Hamler out for the season and Jerry Jeudy gone, in all likelihood, until at least Week 7, Patrick’s target share should continue to be quite solid.

Patrick has scored over 11 half-PPR points in all but one game this year, averaging 5.6 targets per game, including 20 over his last three matchups. Patrick is still available in over 70% of ESPN leagues, so if you’re looking for a consistent flex, he’s a good option to consider.

Rondale Moore (WR, Arizona Cardinals)

Moore, who was Arizona’s second-round pick this year, isn’t someone you should be relying on just yet due to his inconsistent target share, but his upside that he’s flashed makes him worth an add as an end-of-bench stash. Moore will probably continue to be somewhat unreliable while competing for targets with DeAndre Hopkins, A.J. Green, and Christian Kirk, but he will still have a clear opportunity to be the WR2 out of that group as the season progresses.

The Cardinals WR2 is likely to reap major fantasy rewards, as Kyler Murray has played in shootout after a shootout and shows no imminent signs of slowing down. The Cardinals have exceeded 30 points in four of five games this season, so there’ll almost always be lots of scoring from this offense. Green and Kirk are also worthy of roster consideration, but if you’re looking for an upside pickup, the rookie is the best bet.

The fantasy football waiver wire for week 4 is here

By: Rishi Patel

Welcome back to this NFL column where I will be giving my advice about which fantasy players you should pluck off your waiver wire each week during this NFL season.

During each NFL season, there are usually sleepers that emerge who you should pick up off the waiver wire due to various reasons, such as better performances than expected, injuries, etc. It’s important to make good use of the waiver wire as players from here could sometimes be good depth and even a starter for your team in critical stretches. Let’s look at some players you should consider for this week:

HUGE win for @KirkCousins8 and the @Vikings! ? #HaveADay | #Skol pic.twitter.com/kyH7F4dAMb
— NFL (@NFL) September 27, 2021

Kirk Cousins, QB, Minnesota Vikings

Kirk has been on fire to start this season. The normally up-and-down QB has mastered consistency this season (*so far*) and carried the Vikings to a win over perennial NFC contender Seattle in Week 3. The QB has a total of eight touchdowns to no picks on the season and has posted over 320 yards in two of three games. He’s a solid backup QB to add to your roster and could be vaulted into the starting tier soon if you are dealing with byes or injuries.

Peyton Barber, RB, Las Vegas Raiders

Barber thrived in Week 3 by posting 111 yards rushing and a score in the absence of Josh Jacobs (ankle). Barber is worth adding but he’s only start-worthy if Jacobs misses Week 4’s contest.

Chuba Hubbard, RB, Carolina Panthers

With starter Christian McCaffrey ailing due to a hamstring injury, Chuba Hubbard will take over the Carolina backfield with CMC likely sidelined for a while. The rookie will be able to prove he’s an NFL starter in the coming weeks and is one of the best stashes of the week due to his large upcoming role.

Cole Beasley, WR, Buffalo Bills

Beasley has never been elite in fantasy but he’s always been serviceable whether he was in Dallas or now Buffalo. The WR posted an incredible 11 receptions for 98 yards on 13 targets in Week 3 and now has at least 60 yards in two of three games. He’s a great add and immediate flex play as the Bills have a favorable matchup in Week 4 against Houston.

Sammy Watkins, WR, Baltimore Ravens

Like Beasley, Watkins has been more under-the-radar for most of his career but he’s been thriving in Baltimore in his first season with the Ravens. The Clemson product has seen at least seven targets in all three games and has posted at least 68 yards in two of three games. Watkins is another solid add who could serve as a flex play immediately if needed.

Christian Kirk, WR, Arizona Cardinals

While DeAndre Hopkins and rookie Rondale Moore have been getting much of the hype on the Cardinals’ receiving corps, Christian Kirk has quietly been efficient in 2021. The Texas A&M product posted at least 65 yards in the first two games before erupting for seven receptions for 104 yards on eight targets in Week 3. He’s not a flashy pickup, but Kirk can be just like Watkins and Beasley, a serviceable flex play.

Hunter Renfrow, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

Renfrow is the last of this “serviceable WR flex play” group. The Raiders wideout is again not the flashiest player, but efficient and proving to be reliable. Las Vegas has caught many by surprise and Renfrow is a surprise player on this team. The Clemson product has at least five receptions and six targets in all three games while posting at least 70 yards in two of three games.

Tyler Conklin, TE, Minnesota Vikings

TE is a tough position to pick players for as there are such few decent options at a thin position. With Irv Smith Jr. out for the Vikings, Minnesota has proved to have had no decent backup tight ends—at least until Week 3 when 2018 fifth-round pick Tyler Conklin erupted onto the scene for seven receptions for 70 yards and a score on eight targets. With Kirk Cousins balling out right now, Conklin is not a bad pickup at TE.

The Waiver Wire is here!

By: Rishi Patel

Welcome back to this new NFL column where I will be sending my advice about which fantasy players you should pluck off your waiver wire each week during this NFL season.

11 carries for 101 yards and a score.

Tony Pollard is playing hungry. pic.twitter.com/jRmVDSRb2s
— B/R Gridiron (@brgridiron) September 19, 2021

Derek Carr, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

Have the Raiders possibly turned a new leaf? The normally mediocre team has started off 2021 with a bang, knocking out AFC North heavyweights Baltimore and Pittsburgh in back-to-back weeks. Spearheading this surge is QB Derek Carr, who has looked rejuvenated and potent in the first two games. He has now thrown for 435 and 382 yards, which is incredible. If Carr can keep this up, he’s certainly in the conversation to be an every-week starter. Grab him while you can.

Sam Darnold, QB, Carolina Panthers

Like Carr, the normally mediocre Sam Darnold has started off 2021 well with his new club in Carolina. The 24-year-old has tossed for 279 and 305 yards in two games while also throwing three touchdowns to one pick. The team’s next six matchups are against average or below-average defenses, meaning Darnold is a solid addition to your team and even a potential streamer to use, potentially beginning on Thursday night against Houston.

Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Denver Broncos

Like Sam Darnold, Teddy B has started off 2021 on a new team as well and has been firing on all cylinders. He has 264 and 328 yards in two games along with four touchdowns and no picks. Bridgewater is worth stashing as a backup on your team and may be worth streaming during favorable matchups.

Teddy Two Gloves strikes again. ?? #HaveADay@teddyb_h2o | @Broncos | #BroncosCountry pic.twitter.com/ipbhMw4dGj
— NFL (@NFL) September 19, 2021

Cordarrelle Patterson, RB, Atlanta Falcons

Patterson is technically classified as a back even though he’s played receiver at one point in his NFL career too. In his first season with the Falcons, the 30-year-old has shined in both the receiving and rushing game. In Week 1, he rushed for 54 yards, and he posted 58 receiving yards in Week 2, which displays his versatility. Patterson has performed well enough to earn a spot on your bench going forward.

Tony Pollard, RB, Dallas Cowboys

It seems like Cowboys backup RB Tony Pollard has shined more than starter Ezekiel Elliott this season. Nothing is more evident of this than Week 2 when he took 13 carries for 109 yards and a score. While it will still be difficult to trust Pollard on a weekly basis because he’s not the starter, it’s worth stashing him on your bench.

Ty’Son Williams, RB, Baltimore Ravens

After losing multiple backs to injuries prior to the start of the season, the Ravens were in a jam and signed a collection of veterans to their squad like Le’Veon Bell, Latavius Murray, and Devonta Freeman, all standouts just a few years ago.

Well, none of them are standing out in 2021 for Baltimore as it’s first-year player Ty’Son Williams who is doing so. In two games, Williams has nine carries for 65 yards and 13 carries for 77 yards. While Lamar Jackson was technically the team’s leading rusher in both those games, it was Williams who had the most yards of any RB. Therefore, it may be worthwhile stashing him as he is beginning to show he has a role on this squad as a potential RB1.

There goes Michael Pittman, Jr! 45 yards for his first career touchdown.

?: #GBvsIND on FOX
?: NFL app // Yahoo Sports app: https://t.co/tUoK0wsA9N pic.twitter.com/bweqh0Nwg7
— NFL (@NFL) November 22, 2020

Michael Pittman Jr., WR, Indianapolis Colts

With T.Y. Hilton out to begin the season, Pittman was expected to make a leap in his second year. He put up a dud in Week 1 (29 yards) but rebounded for an incredible eight receptions for 123 yards on 12 targets. That’s the Pittman many wanted to see. If he plays like this, he can certainly be a fantasy starter. Though the ankle injury to Carson Wentz could dampen the QB play for Indy, Pittman’s volume could keep him fantasy-relevant. As a result, he’s worth adding.

Quez Watkins, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

2020 sixth-round pick Quez Watkins made some noise in Week 2 as he racked up 117 yards on just two receptions. While he’s not DeVonta Smith or Jalen Reagor, this young Eagles squad could always use more elite receivers. Though a one-week sample size isn’t enough, Watkins did enough to turn heads and merit a spot on your bench.

Rondale Moore, WR, Arizona Cardinals

The 21-year-old rookie did fairly well in his NFL debut Week 1 with four receptions for 68 yards but he did even better in Week 2 with seven receptions for 114 yards and a score. The Cardinals don’t have a solid pass-catching option behind DeAndre Hopkins as Christian Kirk has been average at best and A.J. Green is a veteran on the decline. Thus, Moore can insert himself into the WR2 role if he keeps this up. He’s certainly worth adding in fantasy as a bench piece and even a potential flex play soon if he shows consistency.

K.J. Osborn, WR, Minnesota Vikings

The Vikings need a solid third receiver behind Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson and 24-year-old K.J. Osborn has seemingly risen to the challenge. The 2020 fifth-round pick now has seven receptions for 76 yards and five receptions for 91 yards in two games. If he can keep this up, he would be worth a weekly flex play.

It is waiver wire time!

By: Rishi Patel

Welcome to this new NFL column where I will be preaching my advice about which fantasy players you should pluck off your waiver wire each week during this NFL season. My name is Rishi Patel, I’m a sportswriter who’s dabbled across many sites and hopes to be the king of fantasy football advice one day.

If Josh Allen doesn't overthrow this, we're talking about Emmanuel Sanders as one of the stars of Week 1. Buy. pic.twitter.com/lFMFSSEHiw
— Chris Towers …Is A Real Boy (@CTowersCBS) September 13, 2021

Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo Bills

Veteran WR Emmanuel Sanders is no longer a fantasy stud, but he could certainly remain in the flex conversation going forward after putting up four receptions for 52 yards on eight targets in Week 1 with his new team, the Buffalo Bills. The veteran should be in contention for the WR2 role behind Stefon Diggs as the season progresses. He’s worth adding for now and potentially starting down the road if he shows out.

Mark Ingram II, Houston Texans

The Texans have quite a jumbled backfield with a few backs fighting for touches, but Mark Ingram stood out in Week 1. Is he a starting play going forward? That’s probably something that doesn’t have an answer as we will have to wait and see if he takes the majority of touches in the coming weeks.

But he did well in Week 1 as he had 26 carries for 85 yards and a score. Meanwhile, Phillip Lindsay had only eight carries and David Johnson had three. Ingram’s a great player to stash on your bench for now.

Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers

Mitchell will be one of the most popular pickups this week given that 49ers starting RB Raheem Mostert will be out for the season with a knee injury. When Mostert went down in Week 1, the rookie out of Louisiana stepped up big and took 19 carries for 104 yards and a score.

Mitchell is a good candidate for the RB1 role going forward after this performance. He’s worth picking up in fantasy and could eventually become a good starting play if he shows consistency. For now, it’s best to add him only.

79-YARD TOUCHDOWN ?@JimmyG_10 x @19problemz

? #SFvsDET on FOX pic.twitter.com/9D9Js4mArl
— San Francisco 49ers (@49ers) September 12, 2021

Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco 49ers

Look, the calls for Trey Lance may keep picking up as the season progresses, but Jimmy G had a thing or two to show during Week 1’s close win over the Lions. The embattled QB put up 314 yards and a score on 68% completion. As long as the QB plays efficiently and turnover-free, it would be hard for coach Kyle Shanahan to bench him. Jimmy G. could certainly warrant streaming consideration if he plays like this in the upcoming games.

Jamaal Williams, Detroit Lions

Former Packer Jamaal Williams, though expected to be the RB2 in Detroit behind D’Andre Swift, played like a RB1 in Week 1. Williams took nine carries for 54 yards and a score (compared to Swift’s 11 carries for 39 yards) and also chipped in in the passing game to the tune of eight receptions for 56 yards on nine targets. While Swift did have 65 yards receiving as well, the numbers for the two backs were more similar than many may have thought.

If Williams can keep up these types of numbers in the passing and rushing game, he would be a decent flex play each week. For now, he’s worth adding to your bench.

Rondale Moore, Arizona Cardinals

While it’s evident QB Kyler Murray and WR DeAndre Hopkins are studs for Arizona, the team will need another WR to step up and play at an elite level. While Christian Kirk shined in Week 1, he hasn’t really stood out during his brief NFL career, but rookie Rondale Moore could start off his career with a bang.

Moore finished Week 1 with four receptions for 68 yards on five targets and looked fantastic in his NFL debut. While it remains to be seen if he can keep up these numbers, he’s certainly worth adding as depth.

Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler, Denver Broncos

The Broncos suffered a huge blow when Jerry Jeudy went down with a high ankle sprain in Week 1’s win over the Giants. Now, Jeudy will be out for roughly four to six weeks and Denver needs another WR to step up alongside Courtland Sutton.

The likely candidates to do that are Tim Patrick and K.J. Hamler. While none of these guys had a standout performance (Patrick: 4/39/1 and Hamler: 3/41/0) in Week 1, it’s expected both of these guys will see more targets now that things will be opened up a bit. Both are worth stashing right now.
