What is the best landing spot for Will Fuller?

By: Jake Rajala

The free agent wide receiver Will Fuller has yet to link with an NFL squad in the 2022 NFL season. The double-edged sword of Fuller could be best described between the 2020 & 2021 NFL seasons. He had career-high figures in yards (879), touchdowns (8), receptions (53), and YPC (16.6) in the 2020 campaign. In 2021 — he sadly played in a mere two games due to injuries to his finger and groin.

Tua and Will Fuller back together ???pic.twitter.com/a401xiwTa1
— Kevin ?? (@HollywoodxKev) August 24, 2021

Well, Fuller is healthy but unwilling to ink with an imperfect partner. So, I’m going to untwine five logical destinations for the explosive wideout.

Baltimore Ravens

I’d love to see the Baltimore Ravens be as aggressive in 2022 as the Los Angeles Rams were in 2021. Lamar Jackson is at the top of his game & he currently is second in MVP odds by Draft Kings. They have a stud in Rashod Bateman and an ascending star with Devin Duvernay, but Fuller could have a unique role as a deep-threat and be the x-factor in their offense.

Indianapolis Colts

Before pulling the plug on Frank Reich or Matt Ryan, the Colts GM Chris Ballard should bring in a new toy to help their offense shine. Indy has Matty Ice and Jonathan Taylor, but they’re missing stable WR talent. It may be wise to add another veteran to join third-year WR Michael Pittman Jr. and rookie WR Alec Pierce.

#Colts Michael Pittman Jr.pic.twitter.com/KXvV4HBJkP
— NFL Rumors (@nflrums) August 25, 2021

Chicago Bears

The sky is undoubtedly falling for Justin Fields at this point. He’s accumulated two passing touchdowns and four interceptions in four contests. A part of the reason that Fields has bled is due to the fact that the Bears are blatantly aching for WR help. Fuller could be a potential upgrade at WR1 over Darnell Mooney (8 catches for 121 yards).

New Orleans Saints

Similar to the Colts, the New Orleans Saints can’t afford to lose two out of their next three games. A key reason that the Saints lost their prior match-up to the Vikings is that Michael Thomas was injured. It’s worrisome that MT is already dealing with an injury after being MIA over the past two seasons with various injuries. Perhaps Who Dat Nation should consider inking the former Texan for an insurance policy at least.

Jameis Winston and Michael Thomas were not at practice today. Alvin Kamara and Marcus Maye were back on the field.
— Nick Underhill (@nick_underhill) October 5, 2022

Arizona Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals still don’t have DeAndre Hopkins and they could benefit from an illustrious WR face right now. The Cardinals sit at 2-2, which is tied with the three other NFC West squads for the division lead. It would be enticing to see the Cardinals add another FA, such as Fuller, and then be more surprisingly dangerous than the Seattle Seahawks.

By: Jake Rajala

The New England Patriots have stayed creative off-season and they recently showed their wit by acquiring DeVante Parker. Well, I’m going to untwine a few dream targets that would help the Pats become a true AFC contender and defeat the despised Buffalo Bills. Let’s begin.

Cole Beasley is nasty ? ? pic.twitter.com/kD3ZfT7VYA
— Footballism (@FootbaIIism) April 24, 2021

Cole Beasley

The former Bills slot WR Cole Beasley is still capable of superb production. Beasley was second-team All-Pro in 2020 and then he recorded a career-high 122 targets last season. The Pats have the deep-speed with Jakobi Meyers and the consistent go-to target with Parker. He will not only have the inside scoop on the Bills offense but he can also be a fantastic slot weapon and security blanket for Jones. It may be wise for Jones to be gifted the ole reliable former Bill.

Will Fuller

I wouldn’t be shocked if the Pats added another WR for Jones moving forward. Will Fuller has a similar ability as Meyers, but Belichick can certainly have both WRs involved and dangerous. The former Texans WR that had a career-high 879 yards and personal best 8 touchdowns in 2020 (missed 16 games last season) recently turned 28 and I believe he has 3-4 seasons of top-notch ability. His potential & current health may also be more enticing than OBJ for the Pats.

will fuller ?? miami dolphins ? @MiamiDolphins @Tua pic.twitter.com/ja0a1ZbTKG
— David Cutaia (@DavidCutaia_YT) March 19, 2021

Ndamukong Suh

Ndamukong Suh may have left Boston this spring without a contract, but he should definitely consider returning to New England with a pen in his hand. Suh is a versatile, maniac and he would formulate the perfect marriage with BB. He’s still a very productive player (6 sacks in 2020 and 6 sacks in 2021). Suh would help improve a defense that has slowly lost its way over the past few seasons.

Who is the best WR target for the Packers?

By: Jake Rajala

The Green Bay Packers chose to not select a wide receiver in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft. However, Aaron Rodgers was still a huge fan of the fellow NFC North draft’s selection of Jameson Williams. Nonetheless, A-Rod was able to garner a rookie WR with quality potential in round two in Christian Watson. The new Packer will help Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard, and Randall Cobb fuel the 2020 and 2021 MVP signal-caller.

.@ChristianW2017 showing the hands. ??#GoPackGo pic.twitter.com/VYmpzX0tDU
— Green Bay Packers (@packers) May 6, 2022

With that stated, it would make sense if the Packers brought in a talented/veteran WR for competition. Here are five wide-outs that would be exciting, unique additions for GB.

Will Fuller

The New Orleans Saints signed a big-name player (Tyrann Mathieu) at a key position after the draft and it might be time for the Packers to ink a household profile at a need position post the NFL draft, as well. The explosive WR Will Fuller has flirted with the Pack in prior years but would definitely be the perfect fit for the Packers in 2022 (to say the least). He can be a fantastic deep threat, which should bring music to Matt LaFleur’s ears.

Julio Jones and Will Fuller to the Packers confirmed.
— Jake Trowbridge (@JakeTrowbridge) April 29, 2022

Desean Jackson

The idea of GB signing Desean Jackson isn’t sexy, but the Eagles legend might be a nice value signing for Matt LaFleur’s squad. He quietly contributed 454 yards for LA/LV last season. After Jackson signed with Sean McVay’s dream team in 2021, he likely wants to play for a Super Bowl contender at this stage in his career, too.

Desean Jackson caught a touchdown.

It is Thanksgiving.

pic.twitter.com/McDH9TKqUI
— Jeff Bell (@4WhomJBellTolls) November 25, 2021

Odell Beckham Jr.

OBJ may not reunite with Los Angeles or New Orleans, so he could be tempted to sign with a different NFC contender: Green Bay. If the Packers could sign Beckham Jr, they could have a quality WR room in the back-end of next season. He may also help Rodgers stay away from a retirement home beyond 2022.

Eight years ago today, the Giants drafted @obj with the 12th pick in the 2014 Draft.

His rookie season was historic:
91 receptions | 1305 yards | 12 TDs ?pic.twitter.com/A1alrGab7E
— Complex Sports (@ComplexSports) May 8, 2022

Marquise Goodwin

The alpha persona Marquise Goodwin isn’t scared of competing for the Olympics or flat out beating any cornerback in a foot race. Goodwin’s athletic ability could be utilized quite well in <s>Matt Nagy’s </s>Rodgers’s passing attack.

Allen Hurns

The former undrafted wideout Allen Hurns unveiled 1,031 yards and 10 touchdowns in 2015, but he hasn’t recorded 500+ yards in a single season since 2015. He might be a great depth signing with sneaky potential for the Packers.

Former Cowboys WR Allen Hurns breaking four tackles for the touchdown pic.twitter.com/10gA5dsz7i
— Jon Machota (@jonmachota) October 29, 2019

By: Cody Molla (Twitter: @Cmolla1)

The Miami Dolphins are set to be competitive in 2021 after a 10-6 season last year, an offseason focused on setting up young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa for success and retaining the core of a top defense in the NFL last year. The success of the Dolphins really will depend on the growth in Tua from his rookie year to now. A big reason that a giant step for the Dolphins can be made is the weapons are in place for Tua. Even though Tua had a 6-3 record last year his numbers were not great and the personnel on the field was sub-par by NFL standards. With the addition of Fuller and Waddle to the receiving corps and Hunter Long as a threat, the weapons at Tuas disposal are no longer an excuse.

.@Tua putting in the work with his receivers #MiamiDolphins #FinsUp pic.twitter.com/k5u3v9xLK1
— Joe Schad (@schadjoe) April 3, 2021

Who are these weapons? As it is early in the offseason process the Dolphins receiving room is very crowded at the moment. DeVante Parker, Will Fuller V, and Jaylen Waddle are the only true guarantees to be on the final 53 man roster. NFL teams normally carry six wide receivers on the final 53. This leaves Preston Williams, Lynn Bowden Jr., Jakeem Grant, Malcolm Perry, Albert Wilson, Allen Hurns, Robert Foster, and Mack Hollins as the top candidates for the final three wide receiver spots. There is a likelihood more than three make it due to special teams roles and the versatility of Bowden and Perry to play all offensive skill positions.

A sneak peak at the Miami Dolphins’ vision for their wide receivers room in 2021 https://t.co/iez8KOtBlm
— Adam Beasley (@AdamHBeasley) May 5, 2021

The Dolphins have a depth at the position and will wait as long as possible to make cuts trades and decisions with this group. Of course, injuries will happen and this will make decisions a bit easier but these aren’t just camp bodies and these veterans know what it takes and means to be on the roster come opening day.

Given perfect health, my picks for the six guys that will be on the active roster for the majority of the season are Parker, Fuller V, Waddle, Williams, Bowden Jr., and Foster.

Allen Hurns and Albert Wilson were both part of the 2019 Dolphins and opted out in 2020. Wilson made plays in 2019 before injuring his hip. Early reports say Wilson is back in good health and looking like a speedy guy who can make guys miss in space. However, the Dolphins save $2.9 million if he is cut and $3.9 million if traded. Hurns enjoyed a hometown return in 2019 however the Dolphins have better options moving into 2021 and will also save just over a million with his departure. Jakeem Grant has been a pro bowl returner and brings excellent speed however his unreliable hands and inconsistent offensive play make him a cut candidate. Dolphins save $4 million trading or cutting Jakeem. Speed needy teams will surely be in the market for Grant. Hollins is also a causality of the talented receiver room after keeping the Fins season alive late in 2020 with heroic catches.

Malcolm Perry’s versatility allows him to make the roster but I believe he will split his time with the running back group. He surely will play both spots and if not on the 53 man roster is a practice squad candidate.

Tuas sophomore season is poised for a breakout. I believe Tua will throw for just over 4000 yards and nearly 30 touchdowns. 12 quarterbacks threw for over 4000 yards in the NFL last year. Tua was drafted to be a top quarterback and being amongst the top in passing yards is not out of reality. Tua racked up 1800 yards in nine starts last year. As we know he wasn’t in the entire game for those starts. With 17 games on the NFL schedule, we will see Tua eclipse the 4000-yard mark.

The leading receiver for the Miami Dolphins will be DeVante Parker. Parker is entering his seventh NFL season. He broke out in 2019 with 72 catches, 1202 yards, and 9 touchdowns. Last year he caught 63 passes for 793 yards and four touchdowns. “Unc” as he is known, has the ability to be the main option in an offense. At 6’3 Parker can jump and win contested 50/50 passes. He is a crafty route runner who can use his frame to get inside on slants and excel on the mid-level routes. Parkers biggest issue in his career has been health. A plethora of lower-body injuries have forced him to play hurt and significantly hurt his production and miss games entirely. When Parker is fully healthy, he is tough to cover and can put up big numbers!

As a Dolphins fan when watching the game it’s easy to tell when he’s healthy and when he is hurt. A prime example of what healthy Parker can do is the final regular season game of 2019. A matchup versus the New England Patriots pit Parker with 2019 Defensive Player of the year Stephon Gilmore. Parker torched Gilmore that game and posted eight catches for 137 yards on 11 targets.

With Tua last year the chemistry wasn’t quite there. A whole offseason of work and preparation will help this connection. More weapons in the offense takes less focus off Parker and will give him more one on one matchups in which he excels. I think Parker will eclipse the 1000 yard mark for the second time in his career and finish with 7 touchdowns.

DeVante Parker has spent time catching from Tua Tagovailoa this offseason. He said Tua texted the WRs in a group chat to get together.

Parker’s observations of Tua: His mechanics and footwork look different, better. He says they know each better on and off the field now.
— Cameron Wolfe (@CameronWolfe) June 2, 2021

An entirely healthy season for Parker is unlikely. He played through injuries for the first time last year and I expect he will play in 15 games this year. Parker will catch 83 passes for 1,100 and 7 touchdowns.

In terms of fantasy football, Parker will be a solid number two receiver who can be had at a decent value. Many people will likely pass on him thinking Fuller V and Waddle will be the flashier picks. Parker also somewhat burned fantasy players last year after his big year so recency bias will be a factor as well.

The new free agent splash for the Miami Dolphins is Will Fuller V. The Dolphins signed Fuller to a one year $10.6 million contract. Fuller was a first round pick back in 2016. Spent his first five NFL seasons with the Houston Texans.

Fuller is coming off a career year in 2020. Before being suspended for PEDs Fuller totaled 53 catches, 879 yards, and 8 touchdowns. Playing only in 11 games Fuller tallied career highs in catches, yards, and touchdowns. Fuller was handed a six game suspension. It will carry over into 2021 for the opening week.

Of all of the receptions by Will Fuller (for Houston) and DeVante Parker last season, more than 70 percent of each of their catches went for 1st downs. They're the only (qualifying) AFC WR teammates who can say that. Fuller has joined the Fins' offseason workout program https://t.co/1Vtuuuo4QR
— Barry Jackson (@flasportsbuzz) June 8, 2021

Fuller is a big play threat with big time speed. The knock on Fuller is injuries. Never having played a full seasons schedule in his career he signed this contract looking to prove 2020 wasn’t a fluke. He wants to prove his health and production to the rest of the NFL.

Fuller can truly stretch the field as he had the sixth-best yards per reception last year at 16.6. Until last year Fuller played alongside one of the NFL’s best receivers in De’Andre Hopkins. Sans Hopkins, Fuller proved he can be a lead option in the passing game and produce. Combined with Parker, Fuller will see one on one options and be open for homerun plays.

Many people have questioned Tua’s ability to throw the deep ball. This article by Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald breaks down some of those questions. Some things to highlight are that Tua was hurt by the highest percentage of deep ball drops across the league. I always think of the Jakeem Grant drop of a 90 yard touchdown vs the Bengals.

tua threw a dime pic.twitter.com/TCbM8eAk5L
— josh houtz (@houtz) December 6, 2020

Barry also points out the Dolphins inability to create separation which was the worst in the NFL as well. The addition of speed with Fuller and Waddle will allow Tua to hit on more deep throws, which he was successful with at Alabama. The success on throws at Alabama can be credited to the skill of players being among the best in the country but Tua was able to be accurate which he was also in his NFL rookie year.

With Fullers one game suspension he is set to play 16 games. I don’t think he will be fully healthy for all of them. I think Fuller will improve his career numbers but by a slim margin. Fuller playing 14-15 games will catch 80 passes for 900 yards and 6 touchdowns. Fuller and Parker will be a solid duo and complementary to one another. Fuller stretches the field while Parker takes up the intermediate.

The other big addition to this Dolphins offense is top pick in 2021, Jaylen Waddle. Waddle is another playmaker with elite speed. Scouts have given the Tyreek Hill comp. Others have linked him to Tyler Lockett. Both productive speedy playmakers in the NFL.

"Brings another weapon to the team. Another guy who can help us," DeVante Parker said about Jaylen Waddle said. "He's a quick learner. He listens to what we have to say. You coach him up and he listens to you."
— Omar Kelly (@OmarKelly) June 2, 2021

Waddle is set to see lots of snaps as a rookie. He can play inside and outside. Despite missing a lot of his final collegiate season due to injury Waddle was selected sixth overall. Waddle showed his elite speed and playmaking ability over his career at Alabama.

Waddle will have familiarity with his quarterback as both were Crimson Tide contributors in 2019. This familiarity is sure to allow for success and has expectations for Waddle immediately in his NFL career. In a trio with Fuller and Parker, Waddle if left as an afterthought will cause problems for defenses.

Waddle’s ability is legit. He could ultimately be the most talented receiver on the roster with his ability to score from anywhere on the field, outrun the defense, play physical and play make. Waddle comes from a group of receivers including Jeudy, Ruggs, and Smith from Alabama. Some think he is the fastest out of all of them. The point is the talent is true and the upside is very intriguing.

I think Waddle will be used in a variety of roles his rookie year including receiver, return man, and wildcat option. In terms of receiving numbers, I see 700 yards on 60 catches and four touchdowns for Waddle in his rookie year. With health a concern for Parker and Fuller Waddle could see a lot more playing time and feature as the main pass catcher. I think Waddle will have a slow start to the season but be a valuable option from the midseason point on.

In terms of fantasy football, Waddle is a flex and wide receiver three until proven otherwise for redraft leagues. If Waddle does have the slow start don’t panic if you drafted him. If you didn’t draft him and someone is antsy to move him, acquire him if you need help and he could be a difference maker. In dynasty leagues, if you have Waddle you are holding all the way through this rookie season and hoping he turns into a Tyreek Hill.

The fourth receiver for the Dolphins will be Preston Williams. I love Preston Williams as a fan. The third year receiver stands at 6’5 218 lbs. He hasn’t played past week 8 in his short career due to injuries. Theme for Dolphins receivers. But, Preston has the ability to make plays and produce in his role. Williams biggest concern outside of health is consistency catching the ball. Williams easily could have a handful more touchdowns to his career numbers but has just dropped passes. His athleticism coming into 2021 following his injuries has yet to be seen but Williams is a Brandon Marshall type of player.

Getting injured on a touchdown grab versus the Cardinals last year ended Williams season. 2020 saw Preston average 16 yards per catch with totals of 18 catches, 288 yards, and four touchdowns. The lack of ability at the receiver position put Williams as the wide receiver two heading into 2020. Before getting hurt he showed the most chemistry with Tua. He will likely serve as a reserve to an outside receiver position moving forward.

.@miamidolphins WR @thresort caught 4/5 targets for 106 yards and a touchdown in sunday's 43-17 win over san francisco.

this was preston williams first career 100-yard game. (13th NFL game)

here's a look at every catch from the?'s career day. #finsup pic.twitter.com/Qy0tLMEQru
— josh houtz (@houtz) October 12, 2020

This means a season high in snap count Week 1 if healthy due to Fullers suspension. As a primary substitute for the outside Williams should catch 40 balls for 450 yards and 3 touchdowns. Preston could see a few goal line fades given his size. But he needs to show he can catch the ball much more consistently to earn snaps in this offense. The depth of the position is greater and moving into his third year will need to bring that chemistry he had with Tua from 2020 to a higher level to see a starter’s role.

The fifth receiver that will contribute to the offense is Lynn Bowden Jr. Bowden a former college quarterback out of necessity at the University of Kentucky showed some juice in his rookie year with the Miami Dolphins. Drafted 80th overall in 2020 by the Raiders, Bowden was traded to Miami where he led the team in receiving for a few games down the stretch.

Bowden can make guys miss and can play all over the field. He had 28 catches for 211 yards in 2020. He caught over five passes in three of the final four games last season including a team high 82 yards versus the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 14, where the Dolphins lost by six.

.@miamidolphins rookie WR @lynnbowden_1 had a big day on sunday catching 7/9 targets for 82 yards. bowden led the team in targets (tied), catches, & REC yards–and is quickly emerging as one of @tua's favorite targets.

here's a look at lynn bowden jr. vs. KC. #finsup

|@kipdraw| pic.twitter.com/h2q4F7LCfb
— josh houtz (@houtz) December 15, 2020

Bowden is likely to be a gadget player who is used in the slot and wildcat on offense. His production will be limited but it will be slightly greater than his rookie year. Not sure if it all comes in the receiving game but he should catch 25 passes for 250 yards or so. I expect more touches to come via reverses and sweeps. Maybe he converts some touch passes for big gains or even scores. Bowden shouldn’t be a fantasy option unless injuries pile up and he is needed like last season.

The final receiver on the roster is a sleeper pick to make the roster. Robert Foster will be more of a special teams player than an offensive choice. Foster has produced as a receiver in the NFL though. In his rookie season in 2018, he caught 27 passes for 541 yards and three touchdowns. With a yards per catch of 20 yards, Foster was able to use his 4.1 speed to cash in on big plays. Since then Foster has just five catches for over 100 yards.

The reason he makes the team is his speed and his Alabama connection. Foster was a senior at Alabama during Tuas freshman year. Foster was not a feature receiver at ”˜Bama and often worked with the second team offense. Do you know who else worked with the second team offense? Tua! Splitting time with Hurts, Tua threw balls to Foster and that connection will pay off as Foster gets the final receiver spot for 2021. Minimal production from Foster but he could catch a handful of passes and see some deep ball targets with his speed.

The Dolphins have significantly improved the receiving options. We didn’t include the tight ends in this piece but it should be noted Gesicki will see a lot of targets and yards along with Hunter Long. Both are big pass catchers who can mismatch with linebackers and win underneath as the speed takes the top off the defense.

Expect Parker, Fuller V, and Waddle to see the bulk of passes and have very good seasons as Tua eclipses 4000 yards and completes over 350 passes. These three guys should be fantasy football options every week when healthy. If these guys have injuries the secondary receivers could be in line for spot starts as flex players and produce. We’ve seen Tua have success with Bowden and Williams in limited options.

A full off season, a greater understanding of the playbook, and momentum from 2020 with no question of relief from Fitzpatrick sets Tua and the Dolphins offense up to become a successful passing attack and one to watch heading into 2021.

How Can the Vikings Make the Playoffs Next Year?

Written by Benedetto Vitale: Twitter (@TalksVitale)

The Minnesota Vikings enter the NFL offseason searching for ways to improve the team. They finished with a 7-9 record, ending the year in third place in the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers are the kings of the north for now, but the Vikings aren’t too far away from fighting for the throne.

The offense was much more efficient than the defense. For the Vikings to improve, they’ll need to find some solid players to improve the defense, while potentially finding another wide receiver to put the offense over the top. Kirk Cousins hasn’t been terrible, but finding another receiver to line up with Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen could be what this team needs to thrive.

Minnesota had one of the worst defenses in the league. They allowed 4,141 yards and 30 touchdowns through the air alone, ranking them in the bottom portion of the NFL. They couldn’t stop the run either, as they allowed 2,151 yards and 19 touchdowns. Opposing offenses did whatever they wanted, which prevented the Vikings from winning games. They have to bring in high-quality defenders if they want a chance to win the NFC North. Here are three dream targets for the Minnesota Vikings.

Justin Jefferson COOKED this DB ?

(via @thecheckdown)pic.twitter.com/vwkFXEr6bc
— Bleacher Report (@BleacherReport) December 6, 2020

Bud Dupree Could Fix the Vikings Pass Rush

Bud Dupree has been a prolific pass rusher throughout his career, and 2020 was no exception. Despite tearing an ACL and missing time, Dupree still managed 31 total tackles, eight sacks, and two forced fumbles in an 11 game span.

He enters the offseason as one of the top edge rushers available in free agency. His abilities would provide the Vikings the help they need to improve their pass rush next year. He’s a stellar player, and Matthew Marczi seems to agree, saying, “Bud Dupree isn’t a player who has ever made a Pro Bowl. At the same time, he is certainly one of the more productive edge rushers hitting the open market, particularly over the span of the last two seasons.”

The injury is a reason for concern, but in this day and age, torn ACLs aren’t as serious as they used to be. Considering the Vikings only managed a measly 23 sacks, which Dupree can help increase immediately.

Signing Will Fuller Elevates the Offense to a Whole New Level

The Vikings’ offense was the bright spot during the 2020 season. Dalvin Cook did Dalvin Cook things, and the emergence of Justin Jefferson provided Minnesota a boost in the passing game not many were expecting. The defense needs help, but signing a receiver like Will Fuller would elevate the offense towards the top of the league. He finished with 53 receptions, 879 yards, and eight touchdowns, all of which are career-highs for Fuller.

Chet Gresham with Draft Kings Nation recognized Fuller’s achievements last season, stating, “Fuller was easily having his healthiest and most productive season in 2020 when he was popped for PED usage and missed the last five games and the first game of the 2021 season to suspension.”

Fuller is a speedy receiver that provides a deep field threat. He’s the type of player that could open up the offense even more so and potentially create larger run lanes for Dalvin Cook. His speed is essential and would force opposing defenses to play deep, allowing for other targets to get open underneath in the secondary. This would be a luxury acquisition for the Vikings, as signing Fuller would make the offense even better overall.

Deshaun Watson connects with Will Fuller for a 77-yard TD.

Jayon Brown Provides Elite Linebacker Play for Minnesota

Focusing on the defensive side of the ball once again, the Vikings would benefit from signing an inside linebacker. Jayon Brown enters free agency as one of the best linebackers available and could give Minnesota some versatility in the position. Before suffering from a season-ending injury, Brown finished with 76 total tackles, two forced fumbles, and one interception.

The Tennessee Titans would likely prefer keeping Brown on the roster, but Justin Melo with SB Nation brings up a solid point as to why they possibly let him walk. He explains, “The main argument as to why they should let Brown walk comes in the form of who would take his place: David Long, Jr., another Day 3 draft pick by Jon Robinson. Long did an excellent job replacing Brown down the stretch in 2020.”

For that reason, Brown should be available and would be an excellent signing for the Vikings. He’s a tackle machine and plays well in coverage. It took him a few years to become accoladed as a starter, but once he earned the role, Brown played as a consistent inside linebacker. He’d provide Minnesota solid play within the front-seven.

Could Fuller Land in Green Bay?

By: Benedetto Vitale (Twitter: @vitaletalks)

With the Houston Texans franchise in complete turmoil, it’s possible they won’t be able to re-sign any of their top free-agent candidates. One of them being, Will Fuller, the five-year veteran had a great season, finishing with 53 receptions, 879 receiving yards, and eight touchdowns, all career highs.

Throughout his career, Fuller hasn’t been able to play a full season yet. In previous years, Fuller fell to injury cutting his season short. This year, Fuller was suspended after Week 12, and won’t be available until Week 2 of the 2021 season. He was suspended for testing positive for a banned substance.

In Steve Gardner’s article for USA Today, the author explains the situation by stating, “… he was prescribed medication earlier this year that the doctor believed to be permitted under the NFL’s drug policy.” That seems to be true, as multiple other players across the league were suspended for the same reason.

Despite being suspended, Fuller put on an impressive performance and should have some interest in the offseason. Plenty of teams will be searching to upgrade their wide receiver group, however, three stand out as favorites to sign Fuller. Here are three potential landing spots for Will Fuller.

WHOA.

Will Fuller V with the BIG catch!

?: CBS

?: https://t.co/Nm64mQkAPf pic.twitter.com/FKPEBBZ1gs
— Houston Texans (@HoustonTexans) September 27, 2020

Will Fuller Goes to the Capitol?

The Washington Football Team made the playoffs this year after going 7-9. They’re in a weak NFC East division, which gives them a great chance to continue their success. On the other hand, this roster is really close to becoming a legitimate threat in the NFL. With a great defense and a solid offensive line, this franchise is knocking on the door of success in 2021.

During this offseason, Washington will be searching for a franchise quarterback, as that is their most obvious need. However, the offense still needs to upgrade their WR group. Terry Mclaurin is one of the best young wide receivers in the league, and finding him some help is going to go a long way.

Jordan Dajani, a writer for CBS Sports agrees, as he explains Washington’s wide receiver situation, “It became clear with all of the drops registered in Washington’s postseason loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers that Mclaurin needs a consistent, reliable running mate who can take attention off of him in the secondary.”

Will Fuller fits that description perfectly. With the fifth-most cap space in the NFL right now, Washington can easily afford Fuller. He’d become a fantastic WR2 and has the big-play ability to force defenses to pay attention to him. Signing Will Fuller opens up Washington’s playbook, which should make them a more dangerous team in 2021.

Alex Smith and Terry McLaurin connect on the deep ball for 42 yards!

?: #CINvsWAS on CBS
?: NFL app // Yahoo Sports app: https://t.co/XvGQdBFS2I pic.twitter.com/k568vk358W
— NFL (@NFL) November 22, 2020

Fuller Hits Broadway?

Another team in the NFC East, the New York Giants will be looking to shake things up this offseason. They have a putrid defense and should be focusing to improve that side of the ball right away. As for the offense, New York needs some help to make themselves respectable.

First and foremost, the Giants should be aiming to improve the offensive line and give Daniel Jones some much-needed protection. Saquon Barkley is a premier athlete, which means upgrading the WR group should be second on the Giants’ priority list. There is a strong chance the Giants draft a wide receiver, but they should also look in the free agent pool as well.

Danny Friedman, a writer for Fansided, explains the current WR situation in New York, stating, “In 2020, none of the three (Golden Tate, Sterling Shepard, Darius Slayton) has played remotely up to their expectations nor their standards. The trio has failed to create separation all season, they don’t make catches in traffic, and they gain little-to-no yards after the catch.”

That’s a terrible situation to be in and replacing the WR group is a must for this franchise. Will Fuller could step in and become the WR1 right away, giving Danny Dimes a reliable target for once. Additionally, the Giants could then draft a talented WR within the first two rounds, immediately upgrading the Giants WR group for 2021. Look for New York to make some changes on the offense this offseason.

DJ's 2020 highlight reel ? pic.twitter.com/WkZmgHIQYX
— New York Giants (@Giants) January 14, 2021

A New Colt For Indianapolis?

The Indianapolis Colts are primed to become a Super Bowl contender next year. They’re a franchise QB away from becoming a threat and just need to reload some other positions. The left tackle position will likely be addressed, and they’ll want to maintain their strong defense, but the front office should aim to add another wide receiver to the roster.

With TY Hilton hitting the free-agent market, the Colts’ WR situation is uncertain. Michael Pittman and Parris Campbell have great potential to elevate their game next year, but the team will want another WR on the roster. Will Fuller would make a fantastic addition to this team and create an offense any QB would want to play for.

The reason why Fuller makes sense is the front office will want someone who can help right away, and for years to come. Andrew Walker, a writer for the Indianapolis Colts explains, “I think like at quarterback, the Colts will definitely try to ensure both the here and now and the future at the wide receiver position this offseason.”

Will Fuller fits that description perfectly, as he’ll be a reliable target for any QB starting for the Colts next year. He brings the same big-play ability Hilton brought to the table for years and should open up the field for Pittman and Campbell in the secondary. Don’t be shocked if Indianapolis makes a push for a WR during the offseason.
