What We Learned in Week 17

272

This will not be your typical “what we learned” with analysis from the games that took place in Week 17. Rather, this week we want to talk about Damar Hamlin. Damar suffered a cardiac arrest while playing in a Monday night football game against the Cincinnati Bengals. We’re used to people getting hurt and then getting back up, but in this case that didn’t happen. Damar had to be resuscitated on the field to get his heart beating.

We’re learning now he had to be resuscitated again at the hospital. As we speak, Damar is still in critical condition fighting for us life. Football is a game played by highly skilled athletes. What we learned this week is that there is more to life than just football. This young man is battling for his life and got injured playing the game he loved. Nobody is worried right now when they will reschedule this game or how it will effect playoff implications. Shoot, the Bills would rather him be OK than go to the Super bowl. This is a human being that needs all the prayers and support as he fight’s for his life.

What did we learn in Week 17? We learned that life is precious and is so much more important than Football!
