What is Brian Robinson’s Dynasty Outlook in 2023 and Beyond?

There was a time when we didn’t know if Brian Robinson Jr. would be able to play football again. He was a victim of a carjacking attempt in Washington D.C. and was shot multiple times in the leg. In a miraculous turn of events, Robinson was able to return to football and make his NFL debut in week 5. A true testament to his physical and mental strength.

When the Washington Commanders drafted Brian Robinson in the 3rd round of the 2022 NFL Draft it was a bit of a surprise. Antonio Gibson was already on the roster and developing nicely yet the Commanders were looking for a true bruiser/red zone running back. The rookie out of Alabama showed he could handle a full-time role but would need to adjust in the NFL to complement Gibson. In the end, Robinson showed flashes but didn’t produce enough to be a top-tier running back.

Brian Robinson finished the season with 108.2 FP (Half PPR). He had 3 total touchdowns on the season, 2 rushing and 1 receiving. On top of that, he had 205 rushing attempts which was good for #19 amongst running backs. Keep in mind, that is with missing 4 games along with sharing the load with Gibson. The Commanders looked to give him the majority of the workload but he didn’t produce as much as we liked. Let’s now dive deeper into his 2022 season and forecast his value.

2022

As you can expect it was an emotional day when Brian Robinson made his debut in week 5. Robinson was eased into the game plan and rightfully so, he just had surgery on his leg and was getting used to the pro game. The following week against the Chicago Bears, Robinson scored his first NFL touchdown. We also saw his volume go up as he finished with 60 yards on 17 carries.

Touchdown @BrianR_4.

In week 12 against the Atlanta Falcons, Robinson had his best output of the season. He rushed for 105 yards on 18 carries including his first receiving touchdown. It was exactly what owners were looking for as Robinson finished in the top 5 with 19.5 fantasy points. One thing is for certain, Robinson did not lack touches, especially in the red zone. He just didn’t hit paydirt as much as we would’ve liked.

In the chart below were his projected vs actual fantasy points in Half PPR for 2022. As you can see, he exceeded his projections 5 times but the projections were mostly in the single digits.

2023

As we look ahead to the upcoming season and start to project Brian Robinson’s value there are some key factors to consider. Washington fired offensive coordinator Scott Turner and brought in Eric Bieniemy. This has me excited for the Commanders offense as a whole but we don’t know yet how all the pieces will fit. Head Coach Ron Rivera has had an old-school mentality and prefers to control the clock with the run game. If Bieniemy has his way, we will see exotic packages and a more up tempo offense. It will be fascinating to watch how this plays out.

Brian Robinson’s Dynasty Value

Where do I rank Brian Robinson’s dynasty value right now? He is currently RB29 in my recently updated dynasty football rankings. This is +6 in terms of the FantasyPros ECR. It’s also right around his current position on KeepTradeCut which is RB35. There is a lot of hype surrounding Antonio Gibson in the new-look Washington offense. Although Gibson has the better upside, I still have him below Robinson. You can expect more rushing touchdowns in year 2 for Robinson and at this current value, he is a BUY for me.

What is Javonte Williams’s Dynasty Outlook in 2023 and Beyond?

Going into last season there was a lot expected from Javonte Williams and the Broncos offense. Williams was coming off a strong finish to his rookie campaign and the Broncos pulled off a blockbuster trade for Russell Wilson. It didn’t take long to realize this new-look Broncos offense was mediocre at best. Then disaster struck and Williams tore his ACL against Oakland Raiders.

Coming into 2022, Javonte Williams was #14 RB according to FantasyPros ECR. He was firmly in the tier 3 range of running backs with big things expected. Due to his injury, he ended with just 34 FP (Half PPR). Let’s take a closer look at what to do with Javonte Williams dynasty shares going forward.

2022

In the opening game against the Seattle Seahawks, the Broncos offense as a whole struggled. They finished with just 16 points in a close loss. Williams accounted for much of the Broncos production on the day. He only had 43 yards on the ground but he was able to haul in 11 receptions for 65 yards. Most of those were short yardage dump-offs from Wilson. Williams finished the day with 14.3 FP which was his highest output of the season.

Following the loss to the Seahawks the Broncos were able to string together back-to-back wins and Williams started to gain momentum in the running game. Unfortunately, things took a turn in the week 4 matchup against the Raiders. Williams went down with an ACL injury which shut him down for the rest of the season.

2023

Looking ahead to next season, the biggest question with Javonte Williams is how well he is progressing from his injury. We received some good news recently as according to Head Coach Sean Payton, Williams participated in OTA’s albeit in a limited fashion. It’s certainly a great indicator that he may be ready for the upcoming season with no setbacks. The addition of Sean Payton is also what excites me with Williams’s potential. I could see Williams taking on an Alvin Kamara type of role in the new-look offense. At the end of the day, it all comes down to how Russell Wilson can bounce back from an awful 2022. If Payton can work his magic this offense could really make some noise.

Javonte Williams Dynasty Value

So what is the current value of Javonte Williams dynasty shares? He is hovering around the #15 RB range and stayed pretty steady. I can see that trending upward as we get into training camp and see how well he is progressing. As for right now, he is a BUY as some have already given up on him. I would be willing to roll the dice and grab him at a discount if you can. If Williams comes back fully healthy it could be a major steal.

What is Jahan Dotson’s Dynasty Outlook in 2023 and Beyond?

Jahan Dotson was somewhat of a wildcard going into last season. Dotson was receiving plenty of buzz inside the Washington Commanders camp. Outside of that most of the NFL world was focused on Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson in terms of 1st round wide receivers. As for pre-draft rankings, Dotson was #29 WR according to FantasyPros ECR and he ended up with 113.1 FP (Half PPR). Dotson missed 5 games due to a hamstring injury that hampered his production. Let’s take a closer look at Jahan Dotson dynasty shares going forward.

2022

Unlike some other rookies we have profiled here, Dotson wasted no time making his mark. In week 1 against the Jacksonville Jaguars he finished with 2 touchdowns including an impressive game-winner. On the day Dotson finished with 16.5 FP and 40 yards receiving. Dotson kept his touchdown streak going when the Commanders visited the Detroit Lions in week 2. He scored on a nasty juke move that made space for Carson Wentz to fit in a tight throw. One thing that sticks out right away with Dotson on film is his route-running ability. He is very shifty and often leaves defenders flat-footed.

In the week 4 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, Dotson flashed his route-running ability again scoring a touchdown in the corner of the endzone. Unfortunately not long after he went down with a hamstring injury that led to him missing some time.

In his return from the hamstring injury Dotson was eased back into the gameplan slowly. He put up minimal numbers in his first three games back. In week 13 against the New York Giants Dotson made his mark again. He caught a grab over the middle and used an impressive spin move on his way to the game-tying score.

That spin move ? @JahanDotson

?: #WASvsNYG on FOX
?: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/OXYVVHbGn9 pic.twitter.com/3kJ9Gp0cp5
— NFL (@NFL) December 4, 2022

2023

Going into next year there are some key questions to ask in terms of Dotson. The first of which is how well will he mesh with Sam Howell. If it’s any indication Dotson and Howell showed some chemistry in the final game of the year against the Cowboys. Despite limited targets and just 35 receptions on the year Dotson still finished with 7 touchdowns. He had an 18.9% TD rate according to PlayerProfiler which was good for 14th best in the league. Consistency at the quarterback position will be key for Dotson going forward.

Jahan Dotson’s Dynasty Value

Where do I rank Jahan Dotson’s dynasty value for next year? I am still high on Dotson’s ability and his production will only go up. The key is how well Dotson and Howell progress in new Offensive Coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s system. Bieniemy coming in to run the Commanders offense is a huge x-factor. He will find creative ways to get Dotson more involved and increase his target share. For now, Dotson is a HOLD for me going into the 2023 NFL season.

Now that the 2023 NFL draft is behind us it’s time to release our latest dynasty football rookie rankings. By now most undrafted rookies have signed onto their new teams. While most won’t make it you can expect a handful to pop and have a real impact going forward.

One of the most intriguing prospects is Anthony Richardson now with the Indianapolis Colts. Early rumors suggest Richardson will be the week 1 starter which is something to keep an eye on. There will be a learning curve for him but if he catches on he could be a big time fantasy stud.

Bijan Robinson tops out our rankings and that should be no surprise. There is a reason the Falcons selected him with the 8th overall pick in this year’s draft. They plan to feature the young rookie stud and I am expecting him to put up big numbers next year. Let’s take a look at the rest of our 2023 dynasty football rookie rankings below.

What is Breece Hall’s Dynasty Outlook in 2023 and Beyond?

Breece Hall showed flashes but an ACL injury cut short his 2022-2023 NFL season. The rookie out of Iowa State gained a good amount of buzz going into his first year and the fantasy world was on notice. Hall was considered one of the most talented running backs in the draft. His pre-draft ranking was #11 RB per FantasyPros ECR and he ended up with 105.6 FP (Half PPR) on the year. It’s important to note that he reached 105.6 FP in just seven games. Let’s take a closer look at what to do with Breece Hall dynasty shares going forward.

2022

Like fellow rookie Dameon Pierce, Hall had a quiet start to his rookie campaign. He struggled in his first game against the Baltimore Ravens and ended up with just 7.1 FP in the game. He also fumbled in that game and many of his fantasy owners were nervous about the slow start. The good news is that was his only fumble in the seven games he played. Things started to click for Hall in his second game against the Browns. He scored his first NFL touchdown (receiving) and ended up with 12.5 FP on the day. Hall’s best game of the year came against the Dolphins in week 5. The dynamic young running back had 97 yards on the ground and an additional 100 yards receiving. It was an impressive day for Hall as he finished with 26.7 FP.

Hall kept the momentum going in his final two games. In week 6 versus the Packers he had another impressive stat line rushing for 116 yards and 19.1 FP. Next up was the Broncos and things couldn’t have started any better. Hall broke free and scampered for an impressive 62-yard touchdown run.

Breece Hall does it again! ? @BreeceH

?: #NYJvsDEN on CBS
?: Stream on NFL+ https://t.co/FWWyCS9aA1 pic.twitter.com/YyTvuJVl87
— NFL (@NFL) October 23, 2022

Unfortunately, things took a turn as Hall went down with a knee injury in the first half. It ended up being a season ending ACL injury that cut Hall’s impressive season short. Many fantasy owners couldn’t help but wonder what numbers he would’ve put up if he stayed healthy all season.

2023

Looking ahead to next season the first question to ask is when will Hall return from his ACL. Early indications are that Hall is recovering very well from his injury. According to Jets head coach Robert Saleh “Breece looks fantastic” which is exactly what Hall’s dynasty owners want to hear. I am cautiously optimistic that Hall will return in time for week 1 next year. Just be sure to grab Michael Carter in case he is not fully recovered yet.

Breece Hall’s Dynasty Value

Where do I rank Breece Hall dynasty value going forward? Very high and you can see that reflected in our dynasty football rankings. I have him ranked 3rd only behind Christian McCaffrey and Jonathan Taylor. The addition of Aaron Rodgers will be huge for Hall (picture an Aaron Jones role). The injury is somewhat concerning but I am not worried about Hall making a full recovery. Breece Hall is a BUY for me but it’s very tempting to take advantage of the hype if you can get a solid trade in return.

Does Saquon Barkley or Nick Chubb have a brighter outlook?

By Charlie Vakassian

Three weeks into the NFL season, and the running back situation has been unexpected and injury marred for fantasy owners and NFL teams. But there have been two constants withstanding the storm. Saquon Barkley is a man on a mission, second in the NFL in rushing yards, as well as the overall RB1 for fantasy. He looks like his old self, leading the Giants to a 2-1 record. Nick Chubb has been tearing it up as well, leading the NFL in rushing yards while being the RB2 for fantasy. In this article, we will look at the styles and stats of both players, as well as their situations for this season and beyond. In the end, we will be able to answer: who is the better player?

#Browns Nick Chubb is not satisfied with where the rushing game is at. pic.twitter.com/MIwrT8jd5E
— Fred Greetham (@FredGreetham9) September 28, 2022

Skills and Stats

Saquon Barkley: 53 carries, 317 yards, 2 TDs, 15 targets, 13 catches, 91 yards (5.98 YPC)

Nick Chubb: 62 carries, 341 yards, 4 TDs, 5 targets, 4 catches, 28 yards (5.5 YPC)

Chubb has been the beneficiary of a functioning offensive line, outscoring Barkley by two touchdowns. Surprisingly, Barkley has been the more efficient runner, thanks to his big play ability. Barkley has been the better fantasy performer because he is the true bell-cow and better receiver. Chubb has Kareem Hunt taking away all the passing work.

Barkley is the undisputed 3 down back and primary weapon on a Giants team with no healthy or talented wide receivers. Daniel Jones frequently targets him for check-downs and screenplays. Barkley also has amazing big play ability, with multiple 30-plus yard runs already this season.

Chubb has the misfortune of being handicapped by Kareem Hunt, who as I said before takes all the passing game work and even vultures a few carries. The Browns also have a competent QB in Jacoby Brisset and good weapons in Amari Cooper and David Njoku.

Saquon Barkley is back and he has the advanced metrics to prove it. Most impressive about his season so far is that he is the third most efficient RB in the NFL according to Next Gen. The big plays and every down consistency is there! pic.twitter.com/Y6WBgLS0EG
— Justin Penik (@JustinPenik) September 28, 2022

Outlook for 2022 and Beyond

Barkley is playing under his team option for this season and has the potential to become a free agent after this year, pending trade or extension. Chubb has more security, currently playing under a 3-year extension. Barkley has more to play for this year, with the chance to earn a nice payday on the open market. He is also the younger back, only 25 years old, and looks healthy 2 years removed from his ACL injury. Chubb has more long-term security, but is older, playing into his age 27 seasons, and has an annoying handcuff in Hunt. Running backs do not age well, and Chubb is a risky play for the dynasty except for contending teams. Redraft the two are essentially equal, but dynasty Barkley takes the cake. Overall, a slight edge over the Giants star RB.

3 RBs to buy right now

By Charles Vakassian

Two weeks of the NFL season are now in the books, and we now have a better idea of how well players at each position have performed. In this article, we will delve into the running backs, and advise on some RBs you should be adding to your squads, as well as a few who you should move on from.

Javonte Williams clips vs. Seattle pic.twitter.com/fzjX5K1Kr1
— Frankie Abbott (@FrankiesFilm) September 15, 2022

RBs to Buy Now

Javonte Williams, Denver Broncos

While the results have not been there for Williams, there are positive trends that are encouraging. He has been the dominant back in Denver, out-touching Melvin Gordon in both carries and targets. Russell Wilson is still finding his feet with the Broncos. He has traditionally struggled in the beginning games, so he will get it going sooner rather than later, and that will lead to a surge in touchdowns for Williams. Williams is a good buy low in redraft if his owner is panicky about the slow start.

Leonard Fournette, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Fournette is in a similar situation as Williams. He commands a large share of touches, but a sluggish start by the offense to start the year has led to a lack of touchdowns. Fournette himself stated that fantasy owners can expect that to change, so if you can get him on the low after a subpar first couple of weeks, you will be well rewarded. Tom Brady won’t struggle for long and loves feeding his RBs. Fournette has seen 20 plus carries and multiple targets in each game so far. It will not be long before those touches turn into touchdowns.

Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings

Cook is another high-profile fantasy draft choice who is underperforming to begin the season. A pass heavy attack in Week 1, plus an all-around porous offensive showing in Week 2 has left Cook owners disappointed. With a new coaching staff and offensive scheme, there were some growing pains to be expected. This is a good time to capitalize and buy low. His usage has always been elite, so there will be a positive change sooner rather than later.

Will @dalvincook hit the century mark today? ? pic.twitter.com/Ff57LlRPpz
— NFL on ESPN (@ESPNNFL) September 19, 2022

RBs to Trade Away

Nick Chubb, Cleveland Browns

Chubb is currently the RB1 in fantasy after two weeks, so he simply cannot get any higher than this. The Browns will not always be in a position to run the clock out, and Kareem Hunt looms for any obvious passing situations. The upside for Chubb is limited, and while he will continue to be a very good RB, the time is now to capitalize on the fact that he is literally RB1. Sell high while you can.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

Najee has not looked like himself in these first two games, with only one touchdown and 72 rushing yards combined. His Lisfranc injury looks as though it may still be bothering him, and playing behind a subpar Steelers offensive line certainly doesn’t help matters either. You may want to sell before he gets any worse, as his receiving work has helped keep him afloat thus far. If you can get one of the stud rookies for him, ideally Drake London or Chris Olave, that may be a move to make pending your team’s situation.

Najee Harris gets UP ?? https://t.co/z73J97VA7A
— PFF PIT Steelers (@PFF_Steelers) September 18, 2022

Derrick Henry, Tennesee Titans

Could Father Time finally be catching up to Mr. Unstoppable? Henry has looked very pedestrian in his first two games of 2022. If you are on a rebuilding squad, it may be time to say goodbye and package Henry for picks or younger players. Running backs do not have a very long shelf life, and you don’t want to have to keep Henry past his expiration date.

Latest WRs to trade away in Week 3

By Charles Vakassian

Two weeks of the NFL season are now in the books, and we now have a better idea of how well players at each position have performed thus far. In this article, we will delve into the wide receivers, and advise on some receivers you should be adding to your squads, as well as a few who you should move on from.

Drake London has been targeted on 37% of his routes.

That is the most among any player whose played 2 games. pic.twitter.com/eBFf5XfkAT
— NFL Rookie Watch (@NFLRookieWatxh) September 20, 2022

WRs to Buy Now

Darnell Mooney, Chicago Bears

Mooney has been the victim of an incredibly poor Bears offense. Dreadful weather in Week 1 plus a Justin Fields letdown in Week 2 has left Mooney’s stock in the dumps. But there is room for optimism. Mooney took over as the number one weapon last year and developed great chemistry with Fields, despite the presence of Allen Robinson. A juicy Week 3 matchup with the Texans, who surrendered over 300 passing yards to Matt Ryan in Week 1, is on the horizon. Justin Fields should be able to sling it all game long. Mooney is a great buy low and is someone you should be targeting, especially in dynasty leagues.

Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

This is a case of adding someone before their value skyrockets even further. London has been the undisputed alpha in the Falcons offense so far, despite the presence of Kyle Pitts. Marcus Mariota has been targeting London constantly. A 48% target share in Week 1, and a similarly commanding 46% share in Week 2. Pitts will obviously start to be more involved in the coming weeks, but London is still a must-have for rosters, and his value will only get better in the dynasty. Get him now before you have to pay even more.

Brandon Aiyuk, San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have seen a lot of offensive turnovers, with Eli Mitchell’s knee injury and George Kittle missing time as well. Starting QB Trey Lance is now down for the season with his broken ankle. With the return of Jimmy Garoppolo, a player who stands to gain is Aiyuk. He saw the largest target share of the Niners weapons when Jimmy G came into the game (33%) and will continue to see a large share with Deebo Samuel working out of the backfield more often.

Toe-Drag Swag by @Cantguardmike ?

More photos from the home opener: https://t.co/9Jf8SseooY pic.twitter.com/ZRd7rASQlY
— New Orleans Saints (@Saints) September 19, 2022

WRs to Sell Now

Allen Robinson, Los Angeles Rams

Robinson delivered after a subpar Week 1, reaching the end zone and catching 4 balls for 53 yards. While this looks good on the surface, Robinson was still outplayed by Cooper Kupp, and even tight end Tyler Higbee saw more targets. A 14% target share is very concerning, and while he has upside in a very good Rams offense, the lack of consistency will hurt him. Sell high after a good Week 2 performance.

Michael Thomas, New Orleans Saints

Thomas has been fantastic for the first two weeks of the season, scoring three touchdowns and seeing a large target share. While this is good news on the surface, there are some other factors that need to be considered. Rookie Chris Olave saw a team-high 13 targets in Week 1, and is going to be even more involved as the weeks pass on. Alvin Kamara will be returning from injury soon as well, and he commands a decent target share as a dual-threat running back. Jarvis Landry isn’t going anywhere either. A lot of mouths to feed, and we could see different players balling out each wheel. Thomas is riding high right now, and it is a perfect time to capitalize on his value and sell high.

Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns

The Browns were a much more competent offensive team Week 2, and Cooper got more involved, with nine catches for 101 yards and a touchdown. Operating as the number one weapon for Cleveland in the air, you would think this outing is a sign of better things to come. I am incredibly skeptical of Jacoby Brissett as a signal caller, and consider this high-scoring performance as an outlier. Use this Cooper performance to sell him for another player who can more consistently help your squad.

Trade away these RBs

By: Jake Rajala

Week 1 was so entertaining that it seemed more like a simulation than real-life. It’s clear that the dynasty fantasy football landscape has been exhilarating following Week 1 – especially at the pivotal RB spot. With that stated, I’m going to simply untwine a few faces at the RB spot to ship out for dynasty owners.

Didn’t know Alvin Kamara went back to college to play for Alabama pic.twitter.com/UpQz9VinFy
— Nico (@elitetakes_) September 17, 2022

Alvin Kamara

I love Michael Thomas & I don’t love Alvin Kamara, particularly the long-term outlook for AK. Thomas really proved to the world that he deserves to garner expectations to be a Top-5 WR with a healthy form. Furthermore, I expect Jameis Winston to continue to toss it around the yard to Jarvis Landry, who might have had his best-ever day as a deep threat in Week 1. The Saints will still incorporate 2022 first-round pick Chris Olave more and more into their aerial attack. I don’t believe AK will be overly involved as a pass-catcher moving forward (which may seem surprising) and it should be noted that Kamara still has a date with a suspension in 2023. I believe it would be best to ship him out soon.

James Cook

The Buffalo Bills dropped 31 points on the mighty Los Angeles Rams defense in Week 1 without the help of the expected rookie star James Cook. Well, the brother of Dalvin Cook had a nightmare intro to his NFL career — as he had a fumble on his only carry in the second quarter. I believe Cook, who is slotted as the 28th best RB in dynasty RB rankings by Fantasy Pros, is overrated & should be sent off your team.

All of rookie RB and fantasy daring James Cook’s touches from Week 1… pic.twitter.com/D2O5dImGVi
— Matt FF Dynasty ?

Leonard Fournette

Leonard Fournette is fresh off a monster performance (127 rushing yds, 6.0 YPC), but I don’t believe his hype will maintain itself. Playoff Lenny only ousted a 100+ rushing yard contest twice last season. He’s also missed 3+ games in each of the past two seasons. He’s also having issues with a hamstring right now, too. I believe a team may overcompensate for the recent, unusually productive performance by the 27-year-old RB.

3 RBs to trade away in 2022

By Charles Vakassian

With Week 1 of the NFL season now in the books, we have a slightly clearer picture of the situations in each team’s backfield. Some players exceeded their expectations. Others not so much. In this article, we will look at 3 running backs you should be trying to buy on the low, and 3 you should trade away now while their value is sky-high.

#Browns Kareem Hunt thinks the “best is yet to come” pic.twitter.com/YhSaVs7Llm
— Fred Greetham (@FredGreetham9) September 14, 2022

RBs to Buy Low

Travis Etienne, Jacksonville Jaguars

Etienne split the snaps with James Robinson in Week 1, but saw 7 fewer carries and dropped an easy TD pass on fourth down. Robinson scored two touchdowns and was efficient with his 11 carries. While the initial results may not seem too encouraging for Etienne, we have to remember that this was his first ever NFL game. Also, after spending so much time recovering from the brutal Lisfranc injury, it’s possible the Jaguars were simply being careful with one of their best offensive weapons. Etienne is the better receiving back between him and Robinson, and he has the college connection with Trevor Lawrence. The Jaguars will be playing some tough teams coming up (Colts, Chargers, Eagles) which will likely see them playing from behind. This sets up Etienne nicely for a bounceback to his slow start.

Breece Hall, New York Jets

While the stat line was not all that impressive for Hall (61 total yards, 1 fumble), the same could be sad for most of the Jets offense. Hall at least had some positives workng his way which should encourage fantasy managers to try and make a trade for him. Hall led the Jets with 10 targets, which should assuage fears about Michael Carter taking all the passing game work. In additon, Hall had a team high 17% target share, showing New York wants to get its new weapon as much work as possible. Something else to consider: Hall is the better first and second down runner, and when Zach Wilson is under center, he is much less inclined to check down to the RB than Joe Flacco. R ookies also tend to get more involved as the season goes along. So come Week 5, there will be a shift in the RB room benefiting Hall. He will still maintain flex value in the interim, but can be a solid RB2 in the near future.

A.J Dillon, Green Bay Packers

Many people saw Aaron Jones as the clear-cut RB1 coming into this season, or at least the 1A to Dillon’s 1B. Week 1 told a different story. Dillon saw more touches (15 to 8) more targets in the passing game (6 to 5) and scored the Packers only touchdown of the game. Frankly, this is the time to buy Dillon while the backfield still partially resembles a timeshare. He is the clear goal line back in this normally high-powered offense, and Aaron Rodgers clearly isn’t afraid to target him in the passing game either. Aaron Jones will still get him, but the majority of the scoring opportunities rest in Dillon’s hands, and that is what matters for fantasy.

This is looking for work.

Zach Tom had already taken his man out of the play and then goes back and pushes AJ Dillon into the end zone.pic.twitter.com/RDIyZupJ4y
— Jason B. Hirschhorn (@by_JBH) September 11, 2022

RBs to Sell High

Kareem Hunt, Cleveland Browns

Hunt had an excellent Week 1, compiling 70 total yards and both Browns touchdowns on the day. This is likely to be a highpoint for him, as he operates in conjunction with Nick Chubb, and both backs are unlikely to see enough volume to warrant top dog status. Having to rely on touchdowns for production with Jacoby Brissett at QB is not a recipe for success. Chubb will be the back to own in Cleveland, as he is the typical goal line back and sees the most carries. Hunt is too volatile to rely on for consistent production. Capitalize on his strong Week 1 and sell him now while the value is high.

Cordarelle Patterson, Atlanta Falcons

This may be an unexpected name to hear, as Patterson was essentially the bell cow in Atlanta for Week 1. However, this was due to Damien Williams leaving the game with an injury. With Tyler Allgier a healthy scratch for the game, the Falcons never had an alternative for if a back went down. Thus, Patterson was forced to take on a heavy workload. Williams is expected to be back for Week 2, and Allgier will likely be activated as well for insurance purposes. On a team with no playoff aspirations, it would behoove Atlanta to see the younger players get more of a chance and see if anyone is worth keeping long term. When both backs were on the field Week 1, Williams saw more time in the backfield than Patterson. Williams will likely split carries with Patterson, cratering his value. Now is the time to move on from Patterson before it is too late.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers

This one may get some hate, but there are a lot of question marks surrounding Najee. He was dealing with a Lisfranc injury before the season, which is known to hamper running backs when they try and play through it. Then, during the Steeler’s Week 1 tilt with the Bengals, Harris suffered a foot injury which caused him to leave the game. The talent Harris posses is undeniable. But he is quickly on his way towards having the injury bug tag being slapped on him. Having to play behind a subpar offensive line does him no favors either. Seeing if you can get a high caliber player in return for Najee would not be the worst strategy in the world at this point.
