Washington Commanders (-2.5) vs New York Giants
Washington is coming in on a 3 game winning streak with Taylor Heinicke, while the Giants are riding a two-game skid. The Giants started the season out hot but have cooled down the last few games due to injury and some inefficiency. In this game, running will be of importance as both teams run the ball very efficiently. The Giants are similar to the Commanders last opponent the Atlanta Falcons, as they run the ball well with Saquon Barkley and have a QB that can run when asked to. Both defenses are stout this season with the Commanders having a better unit. This game should be low scoring, but I think the Commanders cover the spread and win.
Prediction: Washington 20 New York 17
Pittsburgh Steelers (-1) at Atlanta Falcons
Pittsburgh has been playing well as of late being 2-1 after their bye. Atlanta comes off a tough loss at the Commanders. Atlanta rushed the ball with high efficiency last week and will continue to do that this week. They are 4-2 at home and will extend that home streak this week with a win against the Steelers. Take the Falcons in this one.
Prediction: Atlanta 23 Pittsburgh 17
Green Bay Packers (-4) at Chicago Bears
Justin Fields is trending towards playing this week with his hurt left shoulder. Matt Eberflus tells the media that if Fields feels he can play and the shoulder is not bothering him, he’s a go. Look for him to give the Bears a boost this week. On the Packers side of the ball, Aaron Rodgers will play on Sunday with some hurt ribs and thumb. Christian Watson has emerged as a bright young talent, who has been targeted more and more each week. Look for Green Bay to put three touchdowns this week and have too much firepower to the Bears, even with Fields back.
Prediction: Green Bay 27 Chicago 13
Jacksonville Jaguars (-1) at Detroit Lions
Both these teams are 4-7 and have shown flashes of productivity and efficiency. Trevor Lawrence has ample targets to include Christian Kirk. Detroit has played well on D led by their first round draft choice Aidan Hutchinson. I like the Lions in this game as they feel disrespected for being home underdogs.
Prediction: Detroit 28 Jacksonville 21
New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings (-3)
Mike White had a great game last week leading the Jets to a 31-10 win against the Bears. Unfortunately, this week they play the 9-2 Vikings led by Kirk Cousins. Although the Vikings can play soft on D at times, look for them to be too much for the inconsistent Jets. The Jets are a team I just can’t trust, even though there defense has been solid this year. Look for the Vikings to get to 10 wins this week.
Prediction: Minnesota 31 New York 17
Tennessee Titans at Philadelphia Eagles (-5)
This is a tough one as Philadelphia is one of the best teams in the NFC, while the Titans have been playing well of late led by Derrick Henry. Philadelphia has too much firepower on both sides of the ball. Last week against the Packers they put up 363 yards on the ground. Look for them to continue to run the ball as well as get AJ Brown heavily involved. Facing his old team he is determined to put up big numbers. Eagles win.
Prediction: Philadelphia 30 Tennessee 23
Denver Broncos at Baltimore Ravens (-8)
To say Denver has been a disappointment is an understatement, and it starts with Russell Wilson. It appears his team is not all-in with him at QB and you can say it’s the total opposite to the chemistry Taylor Heinicke has with the Commanders. Denver’s defense has held up their end of the bargain, but not on the offensive side of the ball. Baltimore has led in almost every game but has given up leads. Not in this one as Denver’s ineptitude will lead to a huge loss to Baltimore. They win big in this game at home.
Prediction: Baltimore 34 Denver 10
Cleveland Browns (-7) at Houston Texans
The return of Deshaun Watson will take headline in this game. What will he look like? Is he focused to lead a football team to victory. Thankful for him he has weapons to help him led by Nick Chubb. The running game will make life easy for Deshaun who may have to run himself this game. This game is easy to pick as the Texans are playing for the #1 pick in next years draft.
Prediction: Cleveland 27 Houston 13
Seattle Seahawks (-7.5) at Los Angeles Rams
Rams appear to have that Super bowl hangover and have been riddled with injuries this year. Seattle on the other hand, have been a pleasant surprise led by veteran QB Geno Smith. Seattle will lean heavily on Kenneth Walker in this game and use their receiver weapons in DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. Seattle wins again to gets to 7-5, keeping themselves alive in a crowded NFC playoff picture.
Prediction: Seattle 24 Los Angeles 14
Miami Dolphins at San Francisco 49ers (-4)
This my game of the week! The red-hot Dolphins come into town to face the talented 49ers. The 49ers have been stout on D and with the addition of Christian McCaffrey have proved to be hard to beat. Miami will put up a dog-fight in this game but the 49ers D will be too much.
Prediction: San Francisco 24 Miami 20
Kansas Chiefs (-2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals
If the previous game was my game of the week, this is my #2. Two formidable teams playing at a high level right now. The Chiefs, well, are looking like the normal Chiefs we know and love. The Bengals also too have looked good, and get their starting running back and wide receiver back in action. Can the Bengals beat the Chiefs three times in a row? I think they do, and find a way to win on a last second field goal.
Prediction: Cincinnati 31 Kansas City 28
Los Angeles Chargers (-2) at Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders are playing well again led by Josh Jacobs who has been running like a freight train the last few weeks. Look for that to continue this week at home against the Chargers.
Prediction: Raiders 28 Chargers 24
Indianapolis Colts at Dallas Cowboys (-11)
With Jeff Saturday leading the Colts to a win his first game, they have struggled the last few weeks. Dallas has too much talent led by their star defensive player Micah Parsons. Dallas is tough to beat at home and the Colts will have a hard time scoring in this Matt Ryan led offense.
Prediction: Dallas 37 Indianapolis 10
New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3.5)
Look out! The Bucs are a top their division with a thundering record of 5-6. The Saints have struggled after losing Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton at the helm. Tampa Bay finally looks like TB again in this game, and they separate themselves apart form the rest of the dismal NFC South.
Prediction: Tampa Bay 24 New Orleans 13
