Week 1PFM Fantasy Outlook
Montgomery's first game in Houston immediately established a fantasy-friendly role. He carried 20 times for 60 yards and two touchdowns against Buffalo, then caught three passes for 19 yards and another score. The 3.0 yards per carry was ordinary, but 23 touches and three touchdowns showed how many high-value opportunities the Texans were willing to give him.
PFM ranks Montgomery RB16 for Week 2 against Cincinnati. The scoring rate will cool, but the workload is the part worth carrying forward. Twenty carries in a close loss suggests he is not dependent on positive game script, and three receptions add a useful receiving cushion. Week 2 will show whether that volume remains stable when the touchdowns normalize.
