When Is the 2027 NFL Draft?

The 2027 NFL Draft begins Thursday, April 29 and ends Saturday, May 1, 2027. Round 1 is Thursday, rounds 2 and 3 are Friday, and rounds 4 through 7 are Saturday.

What Time Does the 2027 NFL Draft Start?

The NFL’s current Draft format starts Round 1 at 8 p.m. ET. The league has not yet announced the complete 2027 start-time schedule, so Friday and Saturday remain TBD.

The 2027 NFL Draft will be held in Washington, D.C. The National Mall will anchor the Draft Theater in front of the U.S. Capitol, with the Draft Experience along Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 3rd and 7th Streets.

How Does the NFL Draft Work?

How many rounds are in the NFL Draft?

The NFL Draft has seven rounds. Each of the 32 teams receives one original pick per round before trades and compensatory selections change the final list of picks.

How is the NFL Draft order set?

Non-playoff teams are ordered by regular-season finish, with the worse record picking earlier. The playoffs determine the back of the first round, and the Super Bowl champion picks last.

How long does each team have to make a pick?

Under current NFL rules, teams get eight minutes in Round 1, seven in Round 2, five for regular or compensatory picks in rounds 3–6 and four in Round 7.

When does each round happen?

Round 1 is Thursday night. Rounds 2 and 3 are Friday. Rounds 4 through 7 finish the draft on Saturday.
