PFM Team Ratings usually get their full update on Tuesdays once the regular season starts. Fantasy rankings run on a daily schedule, and big NFL news can change the content schedule at any point. Here is when to expect the next rankings update and the articles we normally build around the biggest moves.
Tuesday, August 18
Our normal ratings check through the offseason, training camp and preseason.
Open PFM Team Rankings →Late preseason
Our last full preseason look at all 32 teams before the Week 1 baseline.
Tuesday, September 8
We use this update to set the board for Week 1. Regular-season movement starts here, so any change from the final preseason ratings is not treated as a weekly riser or faller.
The biggest ratings moves usually give us the most to talk about. When a team makes a real jump or drop, we will break down what changed and why PFM moved them. Some weeks that means several teams. Other weeks, only one or two moves are worth the extra attention.
Once the NFL week is in the books, we go back through all 32 teams and update the PFM Team Ratings. If the board moves enough to matter, the follow-up article digs into the biggest risers, fallers and teams whose score changed even when their rank barely did.
Once the major national outlets have posted their weekly power rankings, we update the consensus. The bigger story is where PFM sees a team differently than the rest of the group, and those gaps will usually drive the follow-up article.
Fantasy rankings can move quickly when an injury changes a backfield, a receiver earns a bigger role or a depth chart settles. When enough changes, we will focus on the players moving up or down and why their value changed.
A major injury, trade or quarterback change can flip a team's outlook overnight. If the news is big enough to move a PFM rating, we will update it rather than wait for the normal Tuesday review.
Tuesdays during the regular season
We go back through all 32 teams once the NFL week is complete. If something changes a team's outlook before the next review, the ratings can move early.
View Team Rankings →Updated daily during draft season
The board can change every day during draft season and the regular season as injuries, roles, depth-chart changes and other news move players up or down.
View Fantasy Rankings →Updated as the rankings change
Dynasty rankings move when player value actually changes. That can come from a bigger role, a new team or a real shift in the long-term outlook.
View Dynasty Rankings →Tuesday / Wednesday during the regular season
Once the major outlets have posted for the week, we refresh the consensus and compare it with PFM. The biggest gaps are usually where the most interesting arguments start.
View Consensus Rankings →Tuesday is when we normally take a full look at the team ratings. It is not a reason to sit on news that changes how we see a team. If a team's situation changes enough, the ratings can move with it.
