Williams' opener was steady rather than explosive. He caught four passes for 45 yards against New Orleans, with a long gain of 22 yards and no touchdown. That is a useful reception floor for a player who averaged more than 17 yards per catch in each of the last two seasons, but it did not deliver the chunk-play ceiling that normally drives his best fantasy weeks.

PFM ranks Williams WR24 for Week 2 at Buffalo. The matchup could force Detroit into more passing volume, which creates a natural opportunity for the downfield game to reappear. Week 1 did not show a role problem; four catches are perfectly workable for Williams. The question is whether those catches start traveling farther downfield again. If they do, WR24 leaves room for a major spike without requiring a large jump in reception volume.
