Jackson played only 13 games last season and the injuries changed the way he produced. He threw for 2,549 yards with 21 touchdowns and seven interceptions, but the larger fantasy hit came on the ground. His 349 rushing yards, 5.2 yards per carry and 67 attempts were all well below his usual standards.
PFM still ranks Jackson QB2 and No. 28 overall because the ceiling did not disappear. Baltimore says he entered training camp healthy, in excellent shape and ready for the regular season after learning new offensive coordinator Declan Doyle's system. That reset matters after a year in which lower-body injuries sidelined him for four games and limited him in others. Jackson does not need to return to 1,000 rushing yards to justify QB2. He needs enough of the rushing element back to separate from pocket passers while his passing efficiency remains near the top of the league.
