Barkley came back to earth after the 2,000-yard 2024 season, but the workload never disappeared. He logged 280 carries for 1,140 yards and seven rushing touchdowns, then added 37 catches for 273 yards and two more scores. The drop from 5.8 yards per carry in 2024 to 4.1 last season is the number that creates some hesitation at the top of the board.
PFM ranks Barkley RB7 and No. 13 overall because Philadelphia still has every reason to run the offense through him. New offensive coordinator Sean Mannion has already called Barkley a focal point of the offense. That does not guarantee another historic season, but it keeps the volume floor high. The 2026 bet is on continued workload with some efficiency rebound, not a repeat of the 2,005-yard outlier.
