PFM Fantasy Outlook
McCaffrey handled 413 touches last season, including a career-high 311 carries, and the receiving role remained elite. He caught 102 passes for 924 yards and seven touchdowns while adding 1,202 rushing yards and 10 more scores. The 3.9 yards per carry is worth watching, but the passing-game volume gives him far more room for error than a typical 30-year-old back.
PFM has McCaffrey at RB5 and No. 10 overall. San Francisco has also been deliberate about managing his summer workload, with McCaffrey saying his August practice break was part of the plan to keep him fresh. That matters after such a heavy 2025 workload season. The ranking is not based on expecting 413 touches again. It is based on a role that can stay elite even if the carries come down.
