Denver is still sending Courtland Sutton downfield, but too few of those chances are becoming catches. He has only 11 receptions for 104 yards and one touchdown through five games. The last two outings were particularly rough: one catch for four yards against San Francisco and two catches for 18 yards against the Chargers. The targets themselves are not turning into usable fantasy production.

PFM has Sutton WR42 for Week 6 against Seattle and WR35 for the rest of the season. There is a reason to keep the latter rank from collapsing: his 32.5% share of Denver's air yards shows that the offense still wants him attacking defenses beyond the underneath routes. But 4.2 receiving yards per target is not enough to justify automatic starts. The Broncos need better timing and more accurate connections with Sutton before that role becomes valuable. Until there is evidence of improvement, his name recognition should not carry more weight than the actual results.
