Swift's opener looked nothing like a back headed for a reduced role. He rushed 18 times for 124 yards and three touchdowns against Carolina, adding one catch for 10 yards. The 6.9 yards per carry was excellent, but the 18 carries were just as important after offseason questions about how Chicago would divide touches.
PFM ranks Swift RB13 for Week 2 against Minnesota. Three rushing touchdowns are not a weekly expectation, yet the workload gives the breakout more substance than a score-driven box line alone. The next test is whether Chicago keeps Swift near 20 touches when the game is tighter and the offense is not scoring at will. Week 1 answered one major question: he still has a path to feature-back volume. Week 2 will show whether that remains the plan.
