Chicago's pressure point has moved directly to quarterback function. The Bears need the protection and run game to keep the offense manageable while Williams is sidelined or limited, because Week 2 showed how little survives when the designed answers disappear.

Chicago's interior defensive line still leans on veteran Grady Jarrett, while the rest of the tackle group lacks the same proven impact. A young interior disruptor would give the defense a long-term answer in the middle.
Montez Sweat is the established edge threat, but Chicago needs another rusher who can consistently win opposite him. The current rotation is deep in bodies without a second proven centerpiece.
Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson give Chicago veteran guard play, but the line needs younger succession options inside. Drafting an interior blocker would protect Caleb Williams while keeping the offense from facing another reset later.
