Walker did not score against Indianapolis, but Week 2 may have been even more useful for evaluating his role. He carried 24 times for 117 yards and caught six passes for 61 more, finishing with 178 scrimmage yards on 30 touches in the overtime win.
Through two games, Walker has 290 rushing yards, nine catches and 369 scrimmage yards. Kansas City is not treating him like a committee back. The passing-game work also jumped in Week 2, which gives him protection when the rushing touchdowns do not come. Thirty touches without a score still produced a strong fantasy day because the role is that large.
