Hampton's rookie season never showed his full potential because two ankle injuries limited him to nine games. He still produced 545 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 124 carries, then added 32 catches for 192 yards and another score. The receiving involvement was especially useful because it gave him fantasy value without requiring 20 carries every week.
PFM has Hampton at RB9 and No. 18 overall for 2026. The Chargers spent the offseason getting him healthy, and Hampton said he put his work into treatment and getting back to full strength. He was back leading individual work and taking the first team reps during June practices. The upside is easy to see if those health gains hold. A full season in a run-focused offense would give Hampton far more opportunity than the nine-game sample that already put him near the top of this draft board.
