PFM Fantasy Outlook
Patrick Mahomes II comes out of Kansas City's bye with a useful reminder that a quarterback does not need to run for 60 yards to deliver fantasy points. He passed for 1,037 yards and nine touchdowns over the first four games, with only two interceptions. His Week 4 outing against Las Vegas was a controlled 225-yard, two-score performance rather than a high-volume shootout. The Chiefs have been able to turn methodical possessions into touchdowns.
PFM places Mahomes QB7 for the Week 6 meeting with the Chargers and QB8 for the rest of the season. The nine passing scores provide a strong starting point, but his 41 rushing yards mean the weekly result remains tied closely to passing efficiency. Rashee Rice's hamstring situation is one receiving variable to follow. Kansas City's ability to protect Mahomes and finish drives should determine whether he offers a top-five ceiling or a more modest fantasy total.
