Johnston's opener did not give fantasy managers much to work with. He caught two passes for 17 yards against Arizona and never produced a gain longer than nine yards. That is a sharp contrast with the vertical profile that helped him score eight touchdowns in each of the previous two seasons.

PFM ranks Johnston WR31 for Week 2 against Las Vegas. The ranking leaves room for a rebound without ignoring how little the opener produced. Johnston does not need massive reception volume to create a strong fantasy week, but he does need the Chargers to push the ball downfield and give him more than two catches. Week 2 is a clean test of whether the first game was simply a slow start or an early sign that his role has narrowed.
