Rico Dowdle has not played since Week 2, and the injury absence has changed more than his availability. He managed only 15 carries for 37 yards and four catches for 28 yards across Pittsburgh's first two games before the toe issue removed him from Weeks 3 and 4. While he was out, Jaylen Warren strengthened his hold on the Steelers backfield.

PFM keeps Dowdle RB28 for the rest of the season, but that rank now depends on two separate questions. First, the toe has to clear. Then Pittsburgh has to give him enough work to matter after Warren showed he can carry the offense. A 21.4% backfield share before the absence was already too small for dependable fantasy value. Dowdle is a stash until the health update and the post-injury touch split both improve.
