McMillan immediately became Carolina's top receiving threat as a rookie. He started all 17 games and finished with 70 catches for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns, leading all rookies in receptions, receiving yards and receiving scores. The 14.5 yards per catch also showed that the volume did not come from low-value targets alone.
PFM ranks McMillan WR13 and No. 30 overall after an Offensive Rookie of the Year season. The second-year case is appealing because the role is already established and the Panthers do not need to invent more opportunities for him to matter. McMillan said this offseason that the game has slowed down now that he has a full year in the system. That is exactly where the upside sits. A modest increase from 70 catches, paired with the same downfield efficiency, can move him beyond 1,200 yards without requiring an unrealistic leap in usage.
