Shane Steichen said Alec Pierce is on track and will play against Baltimore in Week 1 after his recovery from offseason ankle surgery.
Pierce's Week 1 availability restores a needed vertical target to a Colts offense PFM grades 78.3 with a thin receiving group already identified as part of the team's low passing floor. PFM will keep Offense and Roster Strength unchanged entering the opener.

Indianapolis activated Alec Pierce off PUP on Thursday after March ankle surgery. Pierce said Week 1 is the goal, but he still has a limited ramp-up window before the opener.
Indianapolis is hopeful Alec Pierce will come off PUP and return to practice this week after ankle and heel surgery kept him out throughout training camp.
