Tampa Bay loses one of the most versatile pieces in a defense that has otherwise been the team's strength through four games. Winfield's absence removes a safety who can cover, pressure the quarterback and create turnovers, putting more responsibility on the rest of the secondary during a short week.
Tampa Bay is still preparing on a short week without Mayfield taking practice work, leaving Jalon Daniels in line to handle the offense again if Mayfield cannot return Thursday. That keeps the Buccaneers without their established starter while an 0-4 offense tries to find more consistency.
