Baltimore Made a Late Push, but the Jets Had Already Done Enough
Baltimore finally got moving in the fourth quarter when Johnny Unitas replaced Earl Morrall. Unitas led the Colts to a touchdown with 3:19 left and cut a 16–0 Jets lead to 16–7.
The Jets recovered the onside kick and forced Baltimore to burn the time it had left. Snell, Jim Turner’s three field goals and four interceptions had already built enough of a lead. The Colts never got a real final-possession chance.
